I'll play the devil's advocate here:
So I've been eyeing this watch for over a year now and I have finally convinced myself that I don't need it.
A couple of points to consider:
the original launch had some issues with its crown so adjusting and setting time weren't great. Serica tried to fix it but later decided to chalk it up as a feature. You can watch Justonemorewatch's review on youtube.
2nd gen uses a different movement, but to make up the size difference they had added an "IRON CAGE" around the movement for "ANTI MAGNETIC Purposes".
there are knock-offs on aliexpress (ipose 5303) with the option to use sellita movement or PT5000. WAY CHEAPER
Ask yourself this before you buy: What do you like about this watch? what can you tell me about this watch? Why do you want to buy this specific watch? Why this brand specifically?
Answer: I love the look and design language of this watch, but so does the knockoff and it's cheap. So why pay extra for a similar watch? because I want to support the microbrand who worked hard to create this watch. But it does leave a bad taste when they push out a defective product. Maybe the 2nd gen will do better, but who knows. I'm just testing my luck at this point. What if I ended up not loving it after a while? then the resale value of this watch will go down. I've seen serica 5303 resale for 1100$ on reddit and used market. For its price I could buy some Doxa, hamilton, seiko, rado, sinn, oris, nomos, squale, or lots of other good brands as well.
Honestly, if money weren't an issue for you then buy all the watches you want. Good luck and if you do get it please post a review and share your thoughts.
