I’m curious, since I know we all have “the sickness”, what other hobbies - mainly active sports - you make your watches endure. Mine is skateboarding. While not too risky in my teens, in my 40’s is another story lol

Feel ya on the extreme activities. Even a friendly game of pickup basketball is a chance to wake up with all SORTS of hurts the next day after 40 lol.
Drinking. 🤷♂️
Golf
For me, I love basketball~
Active sports I'm pretty boring outside of SOFlete and GoRuck workouts/events.
Fortunately I get enough "risky" stuff via work to keep me engaged 🤏🏻😉🤔😆.
Be sure to show those kids how it's done 🤣.
Does off roading vintage Jeeps without a roll bar count?
cycling every weekend wearing my brew 😍

Man, I wish I could play well. I enjoy it but I’m terrible.

Hahaha. Man, these kids are the best when it comes to making me feel hyped on my weak ass tricks but they skate circles around me!
GoRuck workouts can be brutal! Nothing like a good road march at 0500!
Oh, hells yes!! I want to learn to snowboard so bad!
cycling every weekend wearing my brew 😍
Great photos! And Cycling is a really tough sport - my legs would murder me if I put them through that lol
Trying to hide my new watch purchases from my wife 😂
This is you, brother? That's insane. Did you get out of the ring for any particular reason? Or did it just kind of run it's course?
I went to graduate school to be a physical therapist so all my time and energy went there. Now I am a dad and it’s hard to go back with how much time and energy it takes to train but we’ll see, I do miss it alot.
DH and enduro mountain bike, skiing ⛷️, volleyball (ACL surgery for 2 weeks ago) and some infidelity.

This is probably the funniest response in this whole thread! Bravo lol

Not infidelity! 😂😂😂

I can certainly understand that. Congrats on becoming a PT and a dad! Both are incredibly cool in different ways. I hope you get back to it in some aspect that can keep you engaged in that community.

Is risky 🤣
A very nice combo, indeed. How do the competitions work? Specifically, what are the "categories" you compete in and how are winners determined?
In our matches, there are usually four "Stages." Each one is scenario-based.
eg: You are at an ATM and accosted by knife wielding thugs.... etc. You have to draw your pistol and eliminate the threats while avoiding hits on innocent bystanders or hostages, etc. There is a lot of movement from cover to cover and some reloading on the move or behind cover. A typical stage is about 12 rounds - with a designated minimum number of shots per bad guy (typically either 2 or 3)
Scoring is based on accuracy and speed. The faster you get good hits, the better your score.
For the most part, in our little local matches, there are no real "categories." Everyone competes against everyone else. In bigger matches, different types of pistols and other equipment create different categories, etc. There is a Classification System - Master Class, A, B, C, D and Novice. So you can consider yourself just competing against others in your Class if you like. I am qualified as a A Class shooter.
It is the most friendly and encouraging competition you can imagine. I've seen people have a catastrophic pistol failure - and one of their competitiors lend them their $4,000 gun to complete the match! It's a great group of like-minded people out to improve their skills. The competition factor is really secondary to that.
Here's a run from not too long ago. The targets with "hands up" are NO SHOOTS. Big time penalty if you hit one!

Until very recently, this was my pastime.
I learned to jump on old T10 chutes. The landings HURT! 😮🤣 But I remember one of my first jumps from a static line....
My chute deployed and I grabbed the toggles when I realized the clasp on my Submariner had popped open and the watch was way down my forearm. I let go of the toggles and refastened it in a panic! 🤣

Very cool. I love hobbies with communities that build together as opposed to being at odds to establish who’s “best”. Skateboarding is a lot like that - no real competition other than being better than your last time out, and people willing to go to their trunk to give you a new board to skate when you break yours.
Ultra trail & mountain running. I've managed my way through UTMB, Western States, Moab 240 & etc., all wearing my Explorer (just sold it) or Sub. I love it when other runners checking their Garmins, ask how many miles I've got & I can tell them I've only got hours, minutes & seconds 👍🏻

That’s pretty great. I totally get the functionality of a smartwatch, and would never “hate” on them for the purpose they serve, but I so much prefer a standard watch in all situations.
Ha! That is. What style of drumming are you into?
Mostly cover bands, classic rock to more current pop stuff. Bar band kind of thing.
Nice #gshock . The bull bars was a nice touch. I can do landscape photography and it can put me in odd situations. Looking back over the years I have taken some stupid risks lol
