Happy Thanksgiving Crunchers!!!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I know this is an American thing but it can apply to all.
The reason it's my favorite holiday is there's no expectation, no commercialization, no gifts are required. All you have to do is show up with a smile and be grateful. Sometimes you might be asked to bring a dish or a bottle of wine. Fair enough for the opportunity to get to see and eat with friends and family. Maybe you watch some sports, play with your kids or the nieces and nephews. Generally I get to have great conversations over a great tasting turkey or tamales depending on where I'm at. It's that easy. What's not to love.
Now, if you're hosting Thanksgiving thank you! Thank you from tidying up the house, cooking the feast and opening up your house for us, I'm included in there somewhere. We all appreciate your efforts and hospitality.
So that it. That's why Thanksgiving is my thing. I get to show up or host and be grateful for the day with no expectations.

As a Canadian I always find the American Thanksgiving an interesting thing to watch. We have a Thanksgiving, but it's in October, and is much less of a "thing". I suspect that the proximity to Christmas, and New Year's even makes the American version more a part of the broader "Holidays".

Thanksgiving is the start of the holidays for us. Only if we could find a way for Christmas as easy as Thanksgiving. I don't think my granddaughter would approve that thinking. 😂

Scale, what scale. I won't get on that until we're done with our Thanksgiving dinners. We'll have one here in Mexico today. One with the In-laws and Saturday and then one for with our family on Dec 3rd. We're grazers 😂

My favorite too, because, at the end of the day, you still have Christmas to look forward to. I personally find Christmas evening to be a bit of a downer, just because it's all coming to an end.

I always thought my dad was sad at the end because he had 6 boys at Christmas to shop for. I think that was at least part of it. Lol.
