Joseph Bulova

I am a fairly new enthusiast (one who buys watches anyway)..at first, I was all about SEIKO’s, because of the value for money, but over time I started being drawn to other brands and other designs besides the ever popular “dive” watch. One of those brands is BULOVA. I saw a video of the Urban Gentry, where he got a tour of the BULOVA museum in NY. Which I thought was pretty cool. I loved the history behind the brand and the wide selection. Anyway, this is from the Joseph Bulova line. I put this watch on and fell in love with it. It brings me back to a time where design was king and elegance was the name of the game…Bulovas vintage line is some of the more interesting pieces to me! I am really thirsting for the “Devil Diver” “lunar Pilot” and the “mil-ship”…maybe even that funky “parking meter”? Happy Collecting!

It feels fantastic on the wrist too!

Bulova was an old line New York company, most famous from about 1940-1970, culminating with the original Accutron. Like so many other companies, Bulova was hit hard by the Quartz Crisis but has survived, and now under the Citizen umbrella. I hope for great things from the brand in the future.

Bulova is an interesting brand wit a US start. The US at one time was a major watch manufacturing hub. Some are still around but are longer US based.

Thee are now a number of US based independent and micro brands again in the market.

Yes. Micro brands is where all the sizzle is! In my opinion.

In my opinion, they have come out with some great watches the last couple of years. I love the accutrons stuff too. I really like the spaceman? Or something like that? There are a couple of accutrons

That have caught my attention. They are not just watches, they are conversation pieces. :)

For funsies I have a notification alert set to eBay for mil-ships and their surfboard Reissue. Not in a rush to get, but I'd rock them.

Also really wouldn't mind trading for the reduced lunar pilot, but meh. For another day.

I LOVE the surfboard! It looks great, feels great, looks good. I want to try on The new lunar pilot…see if it is still too big for my 7 inch wrist.

That's a great looking dial. I inherited a 1954 Bulova Tuxedo from family. Still looks and runs great, seventy years later. They've been making excellent watches for a long time.

I went with the black and and red bezel with the tan dial. I went in thinking I was going to buy the blue one..but the guy working at the Citizen store brought out both dial variants and mentioned to me he preferred the one I bought because it was more vintage looking…I agreed..the very last second I chose it! He also showed me a gold case variant…which was full price, I think it was more expensive. I didn’t care for that one. You can see me wearing it on my very first post on watch crunch..about two weeks ago?
