Hello World! Here's my first watch!
I'm new to watches, not sure how to introduce myself but thought I should share with you of how I started my watch collection with this Seiko Speedtimer reissue model SSC819/SBDL091:
It's nothing out of ordinary, but definitely special to myself.
Not sure if I would call myself a petrol head, but I certainly love motorsports since I was a kid, and Gran Turismo has always been my favourite racing game.
I remember seeing the SEIKO sponsor logo popped up under the race result at the end of each race, and this brand, SEIKO, has since become a piece of my childhood memories.
Fast forward into early 2022, I wasn't interested into any watches until the day I was exposed to the hype of the Omega X swatch Moonswatch. Since then, I begin my research regarding the original Omega Speedmaster and got fascinate by its history and the watch industry.
Not long after educating myself about the automatic movement, tachymeter and chronograph, I have discovered the Seiko's 6139, aka the Speedtimer, one of the first automatic chronograph. Side note, the black dial Seiko 6139 was also known as the Bruce Lee watch.
Knowing tachymeter is for sports timing, having a history lesson with Seiko, and all my childhood memory flashback has drawn my attention towards the Seiko Speedtimer reissue model that was released in the late 2021. It might not be an automatic chronograph or having any resemblance its predecessor, but still a SEIKO Speedtimer in heart as long as you believe it.
Being an Asian and a newcomer who appreciate the appearance of a Speedmaster, it is safe to choose the black dial JDM model SSC819/SBDL091.

Welcome to the crunch! You will find plenty of Seiko-related information here. I had looked at the SSC819 before, but I had to admit that I didn't need yet another chronograph. I also liked your story about Seiko appearing in Gran Tourismo. Seiko still does a great job of trying to sell you your first watch.

What a stunning shot of a lovely watch! I had a look at this model as well, but I thought the slimmer profile of the speedtimer may suit my small wrist better.

I like this combo so much that sometimes I dont know rather I should keep the Bond NATO or put the bracelet back on as I use it on daily basis. both option look stunning to me
