Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

Naturally. I was an U.S. Air Force fighter pilot for 30 years and watches were a necessary and natural part of my daily life. Always had 3 or 4, then retired and I am up to about 18.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

Think it was a Timex when I was about 10 years old or so.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

I have an heirloom, gold, railroad pocket watch that was owned and used by my Great Grandfather. Beautifully inscribed with his initials. Recently had it serviced and it is one of my treasures.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Go slow! Enjoy your purchases and don't always be searching for the "next best watch"... What you pay for a watch is not directly related to how much you will eventually like it.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Christopher Ward, Monta, Farer, Baltic, Hamilton

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Don't really have a grail watch per se. If I could find that "one watch" that could completely satisfy me, it would be "grail". CW Trident Pro 300, black on bracelet is pretty close to my ideal for a one watch collection.
