DOXA Army Watches of Switzerland. What is your favorite watch from DOXA?

Ever since I first set my eyes on the DOXA Army Watches of Switzerland Edition, it has been my favorite watch from the brand. Although I typically do not prefer black PVD or ceramic watches, this particular timepiece is an exception. I adore the contrast between the case and the dial, as well as the bright orange hands. Due to this contrast, it looks fantastic on our Two-Stitch Diablo Orange strap. With its 42.5mm wide case and 44.5mm lug to lug, the watch sits comfortably on the wrist and even wears smaller. Unfortunately, this watch is not mine, but it belongs to a friend. However, I keep reminding him that I am the first person he should contact if he ever decides to sell it 😄

Unfortunately not held one in my hands as nearest AD is 700km away. I love the design and heritage but need to see one in flesh prior buying. Example above is excellent piece, loving it💪

Love Doxa! I wasn’t a big fan of the Army dial at first, but it eventually grew on me. Think I might pick one up to go with my Subs.

·

Carbon 300 whitepearl. I aspire to own it one day.

·

I think the Doxa Sub 200 Aquamarine looks amazing. Turquoise dial, beads of rice bracelet, sapphire bezel insert - unfortunately, there is no spot for it in my collection.

I will probably end up getting a Doxa Sub 300 Carbon Divingstar, which is my second favorite. The compromises I make to stay on theme...

I like the Army quite a bit (the unlimited version) and have tried it on. It's really unique as far as dive watches go. I also like their 300T Caribbean and Sub 200 Aquamarine too though. I can't pick a favorite!

That’s a beautiful watch!

I own the normal Doxa Army and I absolutely love it. To be honest, I do prefer the look of the black ceramic case on this one (I usually don‘t like blacked out cases either) but wouldn‘t pay over 2x the price just because of that… At 1900.- the normal army is ok value, everything is super sturdy, the integrated rubber strap is very nice and overall the watch is great. I wish it came with some kind of accuracy guarantee - mine runs at about +3s/d which is fine but you just never know…

I love Doxa...it's hard to pick just one...but the first one...the Doxa Sharkhunter chronograph is probably my favorite...since it's a chronograph (of course)...

Sub 300 (NOT the 300T) orange dial, orange dive strap.

·

A great watch, that 300 Army is. Always good to see other Doxa enthusiasts.

Well, my favorite is the only one I own. 😀

I love my sub 200 professional, with bead of rice strap.wish it had a PIP that glowed, lume is kinda weak.

·

I don't own one but I have my eye and wallet on the sub 600T Searambler. Agree with you, the army model is stunning.

You’re the man to ask: how is doxa on lume? Can they hold a torch (so to speak) to a prospex diver ?

It’ll be a while! I schedule out my purchases and it’s slated for 2030. Who knows what will be around by then

Apologies for the delay...I wanted to get some lume shots to show you. However, I have not had the chance.

Quick answer: Seiko lume rules...Doxa lume is meh

Thanks Mel - that was my guess based on those painted (rather than applied) markers. I think some watches still can surprise with excellent lume (like most micros) so I held out hope I was wrong.

They are such storied divers so it’s shame. I love the steel and carbon 300s 🙄

I will work on getting some lume shots this weekend to give you the right perspective. I'm pretty lame at getting good lume shots. I think I need to use a stand as my hands probably vibrate too much causing a blurry shot.

Don’t sweat it my friend! - not needed.

I can look at my Zodiac diver for a simulation - another historical Swiss diver that that somehow has ‘meh’ lume 😂

Well, after seeing it i think the one you posted is my favorite Doxa watch.

I actually have the number 71 of that edition that I want to sell. Any suggestions on where I should sell it?

Thank you 🙏🏻
