Thoughts on this Panerai Radiomir?

I'm seriously torn because I have been thinking about getting this watch for around two years but it always places second or third place to all of the other watches I've bought. I completely understand the issues that have surrounded the brand in the recent years and that has definitely played a part in my apprehension to buy.

For those of you who own the brand what are your thoughts on this specific model?

For those that don't own the brand what are some of the reasons why you don't have one?

For the record, I'm not super concerned about the size (45mm) given that my wrist is 7.5"/19cm. I generally don't wear too many pieces over 42mm but this doesn't seem unmanageable.

Gorgeous watch, I'm not sure what is not to love. I wear my Panerai (Luminor 44mm) at lot.

One of the worries that I have with the Radiomir is that it plays a little bit in both the dressy and casual side of things. The polished case and wire lugs make it dressier than the Luminor case but at 45mm there is no way this is sneaking into a party as a dress watch. Ultimately I'll wear whatever I want but it is something that I at least think about.

I prefer it over the Luminor since I dislike crown guards. I like the wire-style lugs and the cushion case + bubble sapphire. The 45mm wasn't too bad on my not-so-tall wrists but the new 40mm felt small for some reason. Would recommend going to a AD and trying it on

Do you happen to know if this is still a current model? I looked on the website but couldn't find it anywhere

I don't believe so, some smaller AD's might have old stock. I think all Radiomirs have transitioned to the new vintage styled 40mm which are also great options

If you have the wrist to pull it off, go for it. Just seek out a good deal.

Go for it! I have a luminor Marina 8 day from 2016 and it’s an awesome watch! Nothing really compares to what Panerai offers it’s a total different experience from other luxury brands. Watches msrp was 7900 and I got it for 4200 so you can find real good deals and at that price it should hold all of its value. I can only speak on the luminor as I have never tried on a radiomir but it looks awesome, time to be a paneristi!

I've thought about one often, but I've got a couple of Omega's and after handling my sister's boyfriend's Panerai I wasn't impressed. Too expensive for what they are compared to other stuff at the same price point imho.

·

I think Panerai look great. If I had an 8 inch wrist all I would have is Breitling and Panerai, but I don't so I haven't.

I am not sure about the movement. It is low beat and in that picture the balance wheel looks very tiny, a trend within Richemont it seems but it might be just a huge movement that makes it look that way. Those are however not qualities I am looking for in a "tough" watch. Then again it comes on a nice leather strap and costs loads so it is perhaps not meant for banging around anyway.

·

That’s my favorite Panerai, but it always finished 5th or 6th for me.

·

I have a Pam Luminor small seconds 44mm, cancelled a submersible because the ad was adjusting to the lock downs caused by the pandemic made buying another timepiece almost a waste of time. I am really keen on the new green California dial Radiomir if I get to see one and if I can afford it. Panerai watches have suffered from negativity on YouTube videos during recent years just as older Breitling watches but they remain amongst the most recognizable in a bland world.

Thank you!

I always thought the Panerai's were too big for my 7 inch wrist, but after trying one on at the AD and them explaining the reasonable lug-to-lug, it looks good. If I remember right, it was a 44mm watch, but was probably only a 48mm lug-to-lug.

·

My interest for Panerai peaked recently. The Radiomir you’re considering is beautiful - love the lug design and clean dial without the date function. My only reservation is the absence of their signature crown guard. Anyway, happy hunting! 🤙❤️

Late to your post but I recently picked up a Radiomir Quaranta (small wrist here)… and I love the watch. Top quality, wears wonderfully and unmistakable Panerai style. If you have the chance to try on before you buy I think you’ll be convinced it’s worth the investment!

Since my initial posti had a chance to check out my buddy's Radiomir. I am seriously thinking Panerai will be in the watchbox before the year is over
