I have been a watch addict for quite some time. I enjoy watches so much I decided that I needed to get more involved and have my own strap company. I own Mushi Watch Straps and avidly collect watches...

I keep the second piece on 18mm and some 20mm natos, and cut it off on 22mm ones.
For me all these Nato straps are too short, waiting for a bit longer one, just 2cm more and it would be fine. Only single pass, these other make it too thick
Yes but, I don’t cut it off. Simply remove it from the strap and keep the extra loop just in case I ever sell the watch.

How to you remove the extra loop without cutting it? Isn't it sewed on the strap?
I have never tried to cut the keeper but I have a bunch of 1€ NATO straps on the way from Ali express so I'll give it a shot soon...
Great idea
I cut most of my cheap NATOs down to singles now, and seal the cut end with a lighter. I Just don't like the added thickness on the wrist at all.

Nope, not most. I do leave one and that one is occasionally fastened to the strap in some fashion. Typically watches come with two loops in my experience and one is always "free".
Nato straps are an exception to this rule and I thought we were talking about all straps. In a NATO straps case, I just eleave the metal loops where they are even if the strap doesn't fit through them.
I even didn’t thought of clipping it. Mmmh for some conversions it is to much of a thickness… so A answer for now and B for the future 😅😛
Single pass, no cut.

I wear standard NATOs the way they are. However I have purchased a few super soft single pass straps from CNS, with bronze hardware, they’re quite lovely.
Hate NATOs and won't wear them.
All about Marine Nationale straps.
I would use excess strap of 1" width to replace the nylon strap on my trayvax armoured summit wallet. I suppose anything under 1" would do the trick too.

This. I don't get why people act as if the extra pass adds inherent thickness to the watch when that's purely a result of their chosen wearing method.
This one still adds some thickness to the bottom of the strap, but I prefer to just leave that be over cutting the strap. It also helps with the watch not falling down when taking it off.
😱 mortified that so many cut it off !! Heathens!! 😱
