We have some amazing women contributors here, but, yes, the more perspectives the better. As long as dudes do not mistake it for a dating app. Sadly, there is still some folks out there that don’t know better.

More women, and of course , more men.

·

I agree. We can start with bringing wives over to the platform and see how it goes 😂.

·

As long as they bring interesting topics and photos to share..

·

So many things I could say, but I'm a respectful gentleman. Who cares as long as they like watches 👍

Yeah that didn't enter my mind. But I also don't see those types as a majority here. But I know some women into watches. I think they would like the site. I was just realizing how off the ratio is. It was just a thought and I made a poll. That's all.

There are many more women here then you think. They post, comment, and interact less then their male counterparts. I could guess as to why, but it would just be conjecture.

·

Honestly - men / women how does it matter. I have so far found my journey here v fulfifulling as it with awesome watch people. That they’re men or women honestly didn’t add or subract from the experience. So yes women are welcome if they’re watch fans and not so welcome if not. Likewise for men or everyone else.

So this post maybe in good humor but can easily be misinterpreted.

·

I’d like some awful women too.

·

Anyone with a watch opinion while never disparaging other posters is very welcome here. I'm interested in the diversity they can bring to the discussion.

We need amazing women not only on this platform. As well as amazing men. Amazing people.

I think we interact across the same spectrum as the boys - some are chatty, some are more reserved. There's also a distinction between female Crunchers and those you identify as female Crunchers. No girls on the internet and all that, so people tend to assume gender.

I would love to see more women here! I follow quite a few out of both interest and solidarity.

I think we'd all like to see a watch revolution for everyone and convert more of the muggles.

I'd also love to see enough women into watches that manufacturers are incentivized to listen to our market requests. Don't shrink it and pink it, gives us proper watches at comfortable sizes!

Nothing humorous about it. It was an honest observation. As well, I've learned and been really interested in a few women's stories and insight in the watchmaking field. I assume if they make watches they also wear them and all together would like to see more around the forums.

As well, I don't think anyone is going to take the time to create an account, post and interact if they are not passionate about horology. There is not really anything I can do about, I just brought it up and made a poll mostly to start a conversation about it. Obviously "No" is not an answer I wanted to hear lol but yeah. Just making an observation.

I hear you, although there are so many watches out there and styles. It kind of reminds me of another interest of mine. Guns, there was a point when Pink guns were coming out, all different colors and stuff. A lot of men frowned upon it, but women flooded the space and it made a huge difference. There were all the sudden more women shooting at the range, bringing their daughters etc.

But I hear you. I think about the latest move from Christopher Ward and their 36mm Sealander GMT. it's a great move and I think a way of making watches that are unisex. We need it. They need it, and guess what, they aren't pink. So that's great. 😂

That release is a great example! I love seeing more unisex sizes and styles.

When I think of the watch industry's equivalent of the 'pink and shrink' approach, I think of those sub-30mm, too small to be legible, bedazzled trinkets that they always feel the need to label as "women's" watches. I mean, what am I supposed to do with that? Sit around in an evening gown all day? 😂

Facts are, women are such a part of the story of watches, the future of watch making needs to have a resurgence of outspoken women in the trade and community. It baffles me as to why we don't see more in the places we congregate.

Because it can be a sausage fest

My great-great grandmother had a watch that I swear couldn’t measured with a tic-tac. It was bafflingly small. I don’t know why watchmakers even agreed to produced movements so small. Imagine being the one who has to service that! 😬

I’ve noticed that a lot of women users on Reddit don’t personalize their profiles much at all. I presume this is defensive anonymity and it makes sense. I’m not a woman but I’m unfortunately well aware of what it’s like for users who are openly women online
