I'm traveling to France and Spain, and will take only one watch with me on this vacation. It's casual - i'll walk around cities, hike, go to restaurants, pool etc ๐. I have a choice from the explorer, SMP300, the snowflake, and a certina 38mm diver. Which would you take? I'd like to hear your thoughts and comments!
Edit: Thanks for the comments. I want the vacation more about the vacation itself and less about the watch, and I don't want to be conscious about the safety of what I'm wearing all the time, so I decided to wear the certina on a nato. Funny stuff, I've never worn it on a nato before, so this will be a new watch experience for me!

I don't know any of those but I think Omega is a cool brand and that one looks very nice. If you end up in the Alpilles give me a shout. Bon voyage.
Oh youโre going to Spain. So, donโt bring the Rolex.
My G-Shock was stolen in Barcelonaโฆ.. be warned. This happened recently.
Wear your watch on the wrist. Donโt put it in a bag like I did. Donโt leave it in a car.

This was the watch I lost:

A Rolex will sure attract the wrong kind of attention in big cities. Thieves are targeting Rolexes and other hyped models from the holy trinity, but itโs not worth to risk their lives for an Omega or a GS that are readily available on retail. Iโd take one of those instead of a Rolex.
Nothing like a spring drive GS to have a tremendous piece of horology in the wrist that can get mistaken by a run-of-the-mill Seiko by a thief only trained in looking for Rolexes.
Deffo NOT the Snowflake! Scratch magnet that it is. The Explorer is a great all rounder but I'd go with the Seamaster. I have all 3 also and I'd just be happier rocking the Seamaster in all the areas you mentioned.

I agree with taking the Seamaster. Itโs a great all around watch. The Certina comes in a close second. The Explorer is next and last is the GS. Here is the crazy option, bring all of them and you donโt have to decide.

I am going to Barcelona as well. I'll be keeping my watch on my wrist the whole time hence I'm bringing only one watch. Sorry to hear about your loss. I'll keep an extra eye on mine!
I live in rural Spain. I'd suggest being discreet in big cities, especially tourist hubs. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
Go with the Omega Seamaster, I think. Or the Certina.

The thievery problem is definitely a concern, as someone else also mentioned. I'll definitely keep that in mind!
I would take the Certina. Great looking but doesnโt get that much attention.
I love the Seamaster, but take the Certina. It's really not worth risking , unless you're insured (you really should be).
Good luck ๐
I'm gonna say for travelling you may want to consider scaling it back a bit! Not saying Europe is any less safe than elsewhere, but my approach to going anywhere new is to play it safe with an understated watch (but still satisfying to me). That's exactly why I bought a used GS 9F quartz, or even a 'standard' Seiko like the SARB.
I'd wear the Seamaster.
Take the Explorer - just be mindful of your surroundings
Seamaster, no question.
Iโd take something that wonโt get any attentionโฆ or wonโt bother to give away if I get robbed
Explorer on a NATO. Under a cuff on the Metro. For whatever itโs worth, thatโs what Iโd do. Have fun!
Certina or Grand Seiko...nobody is trying to steal those watches...๐
Anyone you feel comfortable wearing out and about. I'd wear any of them at home or on vacation.
Only Certina is fine, has lume and everything. And it is fairly priced, if you got robbed, it is better than loosing a Rolex or Omega or GS.
And Certina looks really very nice too as others!
For me. Omega SMP.
Buy Casio FW91 or a AE1000. Leave the watches at home in a safe.
Depends where you go, what you plan to do, and what watch you want to have memories (because this watch is special to you and that you will never sell).
If it is downtown a big city, take something cheap, if you plan to dive... you know the answer, but I am sure you won't go that deep, right?
I would (if I had your collection) personaly go with the explorer.
Let us know what you decide
I went with the Certina
I agree, the Certina on a NATO not only looks grey, it won't catch so much attention.. and besides, Certina watches are awesome!
I wouldnโt take any of them. Makes you a target. Throw a Casio royale on your wrist and call it a day.
OMEGA
The Seamaster is a good vacation watch for me. For security, maybe the GS. Iโve chosen both at different times.
That certina is stunning that natural lightโฆ I might need to look into them abit moreโฆ
I would take my favorite watch which I plan to keep โforeverโ. I would not be scared to take any watch to those places. My pick would omega since its checks every box for every occasion:) and if you ever feel uncomfortable wearing it somewhere just hide it under your sleeve and and everything should be okay โ Enjoy your trip
I'd go with my most inexpensive side watch. It would be a shame to lose one of your best watches.
