New IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph 41

Chronographs are my favorite complication, and I've always loved the look of the IWC Pilots Chronographs. I stumbled across a deal on their latest model which I thought was too good to pass up. It was my first purchase from an online forum, and I was nervous about it. The seller sent it FedEx Priority Overnight, and it was supposed to arrive by noon on Friday. My nervousness was ramped up a notch when a FedEx SNAFU resulted in the watch being temporarily lost. The seller assured me that there was nothing for me to be concerned about, and said he'd make sure that I either got the watch or my money back. Thankfully the watch arrived this morning, and was in pristine condition exactly as advertised.

The blue dial is stunning in person, with both the main dial and the sub dials playing with the light, and providing plenty of visual interest. The bracelet is amazing as well. It features an easy system for adding/removing links, has a quick release system for quick strap changes, and includes an on the fly adjustment that allows for incremental adjustments without the need for any tools.

All in all, a very welcome addition to my collection.

I wished my Spitfire Chrono 41 also had the see-through case back ☹️

I've been contemplating getting an IWC Pilots chrono since I first saw the 3777 "Le Petit Prince" model, which at 43mm was stretching my size tolerance. With the reduced 41mm size, the display case back, the EasX-CHANGE system for changing bracelets and straps, and the on the fly bracelet adjustment, I'm glad that I waited, but I think I would have been happy with any version.

Same!!! The 3777 Le Petit Prince was my first love, even before being able to afford one at all. I think the size would‘ve been „Okay“, but I never pulled the trigger. Now I have the Spitfire Chrono and I’m very happy!

It's amazing how much difference those 2mm make. Which version of the Spitfire chrono do you have?

This was my first watch in the $4k+ price range. Thought I'd get tired of it. Never did. It's been the longest standing cornerstone in my collection since.

I'm still loving mine as well.  So much so that I'm considering adding a Pilot MarkXX to my collection as well, although I'm trying to hold off on adding to the collection for a while.

Good one to add to the list. I am considering adding the spitfire.
