#SOTC after 1 year. Asking for hints

Hello guys, this is my collection after one year of when I catched a bug. I will only tell you about what I consider the core of my collection. I also have 2 G-SHOCKs (the white one is 15 years from the time I was in high school, other one is modern and also I received Tisso quartz from 90s)

  1. Omega vintage 18k gold probably from 1954.

Image

5 years ago I got this gold vintage Omega as a gift from my parents for getting a university degree. I will never sell it. This is my dress watch for special ocassions and really a sentimental watch.

One year ago I catched a bug when I bought a watch for my dad as a gift.

I researched a lot what could be my first watch but really I was only looking for a “looks” which for me at the time was a vintage looking watch.

2. It was a Seiko Presage 60s.

Image

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a beautiful watch with date complication and power reserve indicator and deep dark green dial only seen in certain lighting and certainly it got the most compliments over all of my collection. It looks awesome on nato, leather or a dive strap. It looks like a vintage diver but…it is not. It has 50m WR, fixed bezel and hardlex crystal which is for me “untrue” and I don’t feel it anymore. I still wear it for meetings because it makes a lot of presence. In future I’m looking for an actual vintage diver, maybe omega seamaster 300 (one day!) or breitling navitimer?

3. Third watch was a Citizen Promaster Diver 44mm sapphire glass.

Image

I actually love this watch as a daily EDC. It is very TRUE. Feels very solid and I feel it looks great.

4. Next watch was a Hamilton Khaki field white dial mechanical

Image

I really had to be patient with this one. At first it looked too basic for me, but than I really understood this watch. It’s a strap monster, comfortable and with heritage. Love the simple, Arabic number dial. I fell in love with this one. One thing I noticed that I love to wear hammy when it’s a hot, beautiful weather not when it’s cold 😂 the sun fits it well. The cold doesn’t. Lately, another watch stole a lot of wrist time from the hammy but I’m still waiting for final conclusions.

5. Citizen NB1050

Image

It’s like a modern SARB alternative. 100m WR, nice looking 4hz movement, saphire, great lume and a certain bling. Great as an EDC. It’s very nice but almost too perfect and a little bit boring (for me!). In my dreams I would like to switch it to Rolex explorer or dayjust one day

6. Oris pointer date bronze

Image

I was afraid that full bronze would not fit my everyday wear but I find myself picking this almost every time I go out and when I’m not wearing the Oris than I’m disappointed that something different is on my wrist. This one stole the time from hammy, that means when I want to wear a field watch I pick this one instead. So I loved hamilton khaki field before the Oris came which put this crazy idea to my mind to sell hammy and maybe sell Oris (omg why?!🥹🥲) and buy the next guy which is IWC Mark on beautiful bracelet, which I feel would scratch the itch for ultimate “Arabic printed, everyday/field watch” (which is kinda my thing)

So now I’m asking for hints. What vintage diver should be my goal after this seiko presage 60s. And what do you think about hammy + Oris switching to IWC? Or maybe you have other ideas to complete the collection? One more thing: I don’t want to have MORE watches because it makes me sad when I don’t wear some. 🥹

Awesome collection, Congratulations! I never knew about that Citizen sarb, I hope it’s not JDM only because I think that’s gonna be the next watch I go after!

Unfortunately it is, but for the money it’s worth looking in this direction

Oh I was afraid of that 🤨 The nicest looking ones always are 🤣 gorgeous watch! I’m so glad you have it, thank you for writing back to me.

If you love them as much as it seems from your lovely writing, don’t sell them. In this price range your loss a hit and might regret selling this lovely couple

Be patient, save and than realise your next passion- IWC Mark or a breitling navitimer

Your collection is a very nice start. I found this YouTube video has some great tips for future additions (although it is a bit goofy)

Yes, I think that is the right way. Save for IWC and after having it for a 6 months or so see if Hammy and Oris stay, that way is gonna be slower but smarter I guess 🤓Patience is the 🔑 I have to remind myself that I started serious collecting not even a year ago 🤯 feels like so much happened 🤓I would never see myself spending that kind of money on watches and now I can see where this is heading 😉 thank you 🙏 for your input, very valuable and bless you ❤️

Oh yes I am very familiar with Mad Watch Collector channel and much appreciated. The goofiness of it is only a great addition and a cool way to be recognised 🔥

Oh yea, I tried to stay on the affordable side to check my taste and I think it was a great move. Now when I feel more comfortable I can spend more with more precision 😁

The Omega is stunning - SNAP - mine means a huge amount to me too. It’s from 1958 and is an early Seamaster, I even have the papers. It was the one that started me on the journey. Good luck in yours

Real nice collection you got there 😊👍

·

The IWC is worth the wait. If you don’t mind buying used — the prices are in the buyers favor.

·

That’s an epic collection🤝

·

Beautiful and well balanced collection😍

Love the vintage Omega. I think the fact that so many of these Omegas were handed down from our parents is just awesome. I got one that was my dad's wedding watch that he gave me later. I have a couple othere Omegas, but I do love the meaning behind the watches.

That Oris is crazy! 💪😁🤌
