Watch for 2024

I've spent 2023 building up my collection to a point where I'm very happy and lucky to have what I have.

Going forward I've decided that a '1 watch per year' approach miiiiiight work for me. Don't laugh...

So, let's say that is the thing that I stick to... Which of these two would you choose to be your 1 watch for 2024? And why? Also, Happy Holidays! ❤️

Don't like all black watches so its zenith for me but any other ıwc could have been my choice also

·

Zenith has the chops of being a pioneer in automatic chronographs, movement supplier to Rolex at one time and that dial with tri-color subdials.

Just a more interesting watch than the still nice IWC

·

That Zenith (any Zenith) wasn't on my radar at all for ages but now this one is. I went from really not liking the tri-coloured dials to likeing them and the associated complexity in the overall dial. I've not tried one on so that needs to happen. I do really like the heft of the IWC. And I do like an all black watch.

·

Zenith for me. I think they are underrated as a brand and the El Primero is one of my favorite chronographs.

I'd get the tri-colored bezel, though.

·

Zenith .... El Primero is a must have in any collection

·

I love IWC watches. But in this case it would be the Zenith. But, you can’t go wrong with either of those choices.

·

IWC Spitfire, I don't do chronographs, just not my cup of tea

·

Im now leaning towards "Two watches per year"!

·

IWC. So I can look at the #wruw posts lol

·

Zenith, easy choice.

·

My regular multi brand ad ordered in a steel bezel blue dial Chronomaster sport ready for my pick up after his Christmas closing and Tuesday, sale was delayed because I wanted to also source a blue strap with OEM clasp. I believe the ceramic bezel iterations arrive from the factory with both metal bracelet and strap. The Zenith would be my first choice, the IWC in black is seductive but have you examined the black ceramic Breitling AVI GMT 46mm, was my second option before committing to the Zenith?

I think one would be too limiting, after joining WC have started to think about an exit watch but there remain too many that I consider to be inevitable for now. For 24 am determined to source no more than 3, the AVI will be one of my purchases.

·

That Breitling is a beaut! But I have a lovely BO1 Navitimer 43mm Black Dial. I'm trying to collect the icons from each brand that I vibe with. Zenith is kind new to me. IWC has some serious cache flight\pilots wise so I dig that. Hence both of these on the list.

I think you're right. I can't go from where I was this year to just 1 watch next year. Too much of a delta. I need both of these eh?!?

·

Good luck with that plan...LOL I say that every year...Enjoy the hobby! and have a terrific Christmas..

·

Tough choice... My brain says Zenith, but my heart IWC!

·

Easy. Zenith. Without question

·

That's exactly what I've done. It's a really not that hard, however I have been tempted by a few other watches but so far in the past 2 years I've only made 2 big acquisitions. Those and 2 Moon Swatches. Anyway good luck and Happy Holidays.

Sigh. Love this variant.

Yep, this would be my choice.

·

I'd modify the comment to '1 good expensive watch per year', this allows for impulse purchases that could be considered cheap/affordable (obviously you set your own $ point).

·

Zenith

·

So far it's a bit of a landslide for the Zenith!

·

Zenith>IWC!!!! Not close.

·

Zenith!

·

I'm not that big of a fan of IWC, I'd go Zenith all day. Especially that white dial.

Why don't you like IWC?

·

I just think they're overpriced...I don't hate them, they're just not my favorite manufacturer. Especially in comparison to Zenith.

I kinda think they're overpriced too... Pity as Iike what they do.

·

That Model Zenith is much more versatile and more of a standout over that IWC. That IWC could me mistaken for black models of many watches from a distance. But if you have so many watches that an all black model is high up on your list.

·

I'd go for the IWC
