A Different Kind of WRUW

Usually we post about our watches, the marks we've left on them as we experience life together. But I wanted to share a different kind of WRUW today....

Chasing after Grails

Inspired by @GoQuartzYourself ’s post, it got me thinking: how does our community deal with grail watch chases that span years (if not decades). Most of the time, inflation is invisible. But some grai...

Best GADA on a Budget

We have lots of cool people in our community. My interests are much more mundane. Outside of watches, I enjoy reading and learning about stocks (gotta expand to other investment assets).

Great photos as always Kostas! Love the Seiko SURs, they’re one of the best bang for buck watches that are still available.

That might have been the plan but they ended up picking up all the dads 😂

Hey Alexander,

I don’t really understand why either. The most straightforward response is to charge more for it but as revenues is a function of price AND quantity. And profits is a subset of revenues. Limiting quantity won’t necessarily lead to higher profits 🤷🏻. But I’m sure the folks at Casio are bright people so there has to be an angle I’m not seeing.

There is a regular, non-limited model that looks like the Casiotron. It’s called the A171, check it out :).

Yes they did here in Canada. But the 40th Anniv G-Shock wasn’t explicitly numbered unlike the Casiotron. If I had to guess, they won’t make a reissue of this particular variant but they likely will launch one in a different colorway. There was this leak a few months back iirc. I don’t think these have hit shelves yet.

Congrats MoonCat 🥳. Love to see engagement watches becoming more popular.

She does :), my wife used to primarily wear a fitbit. We recently bought her first watch, a Seiko, which she’s been wearing pretty much everyday :).
