Macy's Seiko Missing Papers

Greetings WatchcCrunch,

I purchased a Seiko 5 GMT from Macys online. The packaging included a hangtag and physical Macys receipt, but no warranty card or instruction booklet. Is this normal? The box itself had no seals or anything and watch had no protective decals. Is this normal for Macys?

Don't know about Macy's, but there should be the usual plastic film on the bracelet etc. Seiko have started to have only online warranty and instructions though, when I got my 5 GMT I was surprised at that too.

Yeah I've gotten a couple of watches that are online warranty and instructions too. Not sure about the protective decals, maybe that's their way to deter returns?

Sounds like they got it out of a store…possibly a display…maybe return it at a physical store so you can get eyes on the replacement…I’ve ordered at least 5 watches from Macys

Usually, if you order online they get it from Seiko USA and it ships to you but sometimes they get it from a stores inventory. I purchased a Seiko samurai at the store and didn’t come with the regular box and no papers or card. I didn’t care cuz I just wanted the watch …the sales lady have no clue about the watch either I don’t blame her, it’s macys 🤦‍♂

I purchased an SSK003 last year from an AD that came with a warranty card.

Probably a display model

I ve heard of a couple of dudes with the same problem. Seems a regularily practice for Macy s

As mentioned you received a display model or return. If it's clean and works perfectly, Keep it and ask for discount on your purchase. You should get 10-20% off.. maybe more. Just be polite but yet aghast that such a thing could happen. Your receipt will be your proof of purchase and warranty which most likely you'll never need

Thanks for all of the responses. Sounds like I should swap if I want the card and booklet.

I did have a local Macys show in-stock for this and the black/grey GMT online, but went to the store they said they didn't have either in stock.
