The bright color bandwagon keeps getting fuller

Thoughts on these new 556 dial variants? I think some of them look rather nice but are they maybe stepping away from the "tough tool watch" aesthetic?

I'm into these.

·

i bought one :)

·

The orange looks quite nice imo but yeah I think your right

·

Not for me-I'm boring.

·

I can hear it now, "Sinn is copying Omega, and the Omegas are just Rolex copies!!!"  These are awesome and I am looking at the green one pretty hard.

·

Those new 556s are sold for a premium, they probably have a ghost date position as the 556 i B does (brown dial model), and even though I like the green one, I would go for the 556i.

Rolex has released fun color dials for the OP, then Omega for the AT, among others, and now Sinn follows the trend.

Sinn is a brand that does things in a different way, they have their own character. They make cool and tough tool watches. I love Sinn, but they could have done something different, something more Sinn.

·

I wish they made these in a 40mm! They're awesome,  but just a little small for me.

If this had a crown anywhere other than 3:00 (my new requirement), I'd have bought one as well.

I think the world of watches benefits from an infusion of color, even for a brand like Sinn that is associated with a tool watch aesthetic.  The world is a colorful place, no problem for me if watches express that.  I think that is part of the draw of the MoonSwatch.

·

Nice colors, but not for me. The hands are super tiny, and that’s all I see. (And if it’s true that there’s a ghost date as mentioned above…c’mon Sinn. You‘re better than that!)

·

I love my 556i RS but... I'd probably trade it for that orange dial! Holy Hell that's sexy!!!

I agree I think it's silly to lump everything in as a "copy".

This seems to be incredibly on trend and I like it haha. I think we'll see just about every brand do something similar this year and honestly I'm here for it.

We live in a capitalist world where the focus is always on selling, selling, selling. Unfortunately this is the reality, brands do what sells. But I would love for each brand to do what is most appropriate for its style, design and brand identity. This is a utopian and very impractical idea, I know.

·

I think these are great fun. Put me down for a yellow!! Good on you Sinn!!

·

candy dials are the trend now. Rem, money is not made from watch enthusiasts, it is made from the mass market. So for profitability, make watches catered for the mass market, not for the fussy watch enthusiast! 😜

I love color on watches. The more the better. There's nobody who did it first. There is nobody who is copying. Nobody invented colors on metal...

Now...these watches look really good. But I am not ready to pay a premium just to get some more color. If they had the same price as the original one I would snatch the orange one right up.

·

Open the flood gates!

We all have different budgets, so for me a fun colorful watch falls more in the Swatch (and now Swatch x Omega?) territory than Sinn. Outside of that though I am pretty sure they did their market research before releasing these haha

·

Works surprisingly well, to be honest. For some reason Sinn's subdued design language makes those colors look way less gaudy than on many of the other colorful OP lookalikes.

·

Do they come with bracelets too?

·

I can never tell with Sinn until I see them in person, they have such a **** website and their pictures aren’t much better. don’t get me wrong, love the brand, just hate who is running their media side

Looks like they're limited to 400 of each colour, and only on these canvas straps.

·

coloured dials are indeed fun, especially for summer.

·

I just purchased the blue one myself, lucky too, there’s only 400 of each colour world wide and as far as I am aware their all sold out 👍

I’ll have to post a picture of mine when it arrives, it’s on a fine link bracelet. Couldn’t afford a Rolex, so I went with something within my budget 👍 Only $200 AUD more than my 556iR and being limited I think I got a bargain. But as always watch collecting is a subjective hobby so I guarantee not everyone will agree 🙏🏻

Excellent stuff, I managed to pick up a blue one. You had to be quick though, sold out in under 5min here in Australia. What colour did you pick ? I almost went with the yellow but changed my mind at the last minute 🤣 anyway I think I made the right decision and I’m not put off by the negative comments, I know I’ll enjoy the watch and I hope you do too 👍

I bought the aquamarine as well.  It's already sold out and if I get bored of it, I'm sure I'll be able to flip it with no issues to a closet baby blue fan.

That Sinn you got there (even though it's not my favorite) is a piece to be proud of! I cannot wait to see pictures of it when it arrives, maybe pictures will change my mind about it!

Congratulations for such a good purchase you have made, you can't go wrong with Sinn 💪🏻😉

Well said. Look at the MoonSwatch, probably the most important watch release in years. It’s generated so much interest in the watch world for people that generally would only wear a smart watch or not wear one at all because they have iPhones ect… Sure it has Omega on the dial and is a licensed product of omega but at the end of the day it’s just a cheap $50 at best plastic watch. It’s inspired new watch collectors around the world and that can only be a good thing. These companies need those new watch enthusiasts to keep going, they can’t just rely on us older watch collectors, where watch snobbery exist. Sure Sinn may have jumped in on the whole colourful dial hype that’s been happening but if anything it’s probably to generate new customers in a very expensive world where watches can be the least of peoples priorities. I myself can’t afford a Tiffany blue Rolex at $70,000 so I went within my budget and purchased a blue Sinn and I’ll be happy to wear it knowing it’s a limited edition watch from a very well established company making quality watches. Anyway that’s my 2 cents worth 👍
