If you want a reason not to, I'll offer that although I adore Seiko - and am an absolute fanboy for it - I've had two of their solar watches totally crap out on me. And living here in Australia, it's not like we lack for sunshine. In both cases, they just wouldn't hold a charge. In one case I replaced the very expensive battery - that you shouldn't have to do when a watch is only a year or two old, but I did - and it still crapped out on me. I don't trust the technology at all. I advocate for regular quartz watches or automatic/mechanicals. These hybrid things are just asking for trouble; more things to go wrong for no real advantage in my eyes.
had the black dial version for a while. loved, LOVED the dial & bezel design. But ended up trading it for another solar Seiko for a couple reasons:
the sub-dials are near useless. Between the 3 that's on there, one is just running seconds, the other one is a 24hr dial(why?) and the last chronograph one with the battery indicator is just way too small. When I checked my vision last year I still got 20/20 vision, and I have a really hard time figuring out how many minutes have passed.
for my 7.25 inch wrist, I was unable to find a good fit for the bracelet, and I liked that bracelet. It was either too tight, or too loose, if it just could have ONE more micro-adjust...

You live somewhere with no sun…kidding…get the Seitona
lack of color?
It's doesn't have screw down chronograph buttons... It won't last halfway down your next expedition to the Mariannas Trench...
that date window
The bracelet and clasp are horrible!
I do enjoy mine with jubilee from Strapcode. I would say “yes” to the Seitona.
Wait a minute… it has a date window? 😉😀
Yes from me. Friend of mine has one and it’s a beauty! Treat yourself!
Ewww, it's just a yucky, cheap quartz. What? No signed crown, ewwww! Deal breaker!
For 39mm it actually has a pretty long lug to lug BUT if you can wear it comfortably then wait for a holiday sale cuz MSRP is too high IMHO
