What Fun Affordable Watch for the Holidays?

The Christmas season is fast approaching and I'm starting to have to think about things to offer up as Christmas gift options for myself.   Try as I might, my family insists on giving me an actual gift.  In the past I've gone with stuff like Star Wars Lightsaber replicas and Harry Potter wands.

This year though I wish to pretend to be an adult.  I want a watch, but something fun and less serious.  Also, definitely memorable. Not a subtle person but my watch taste as far as watches acquired has been pretty basic with classic black and white dial watches on steel bracelets.

Would love to get some ideas for watches I would never get myself, that have some whimsy and character for under $1000. Bright colors, weird complications, non-typical designs; I'm up for it all.  Essentially, something memorable and joyful to wear eternally as the fun uncle at family get togethers.

Show me what you got!

How about one or both of these that I'm putting up for charity auction in the coming weeks?

Um a momento mori watch, raven watch to match my shoulder tattoo, sugar skull watches, a  squid watch, etc... Crunchers never disappoint with recommendations

You just cost me money... I went to the Timex site to find a fun, and affordable watch, then bought one for myself.

Anyway, Timex makes awesome, fun, and inexpensive quartz watches for all occasions.

Want a Seamaster, but don't want to spend thousands? Here is one with Indiglo.

Timex Standard 40mm Fabric Strap Watch - Timex CA

I ended up picking up this, because it was one of my first ever watches.

Funny that you are asking this question today because I'm wearing my Ciga Design Z titanium. I bought it when they crowdfunded the project but it's still sold and it's an affordable watch that is both unique and completely illegible. It's the prefect watch for holidays and weekends when I don't care about the time and I know that it's too large for my wrist but for me it's the perfect accessory for when I don't want to take myself or this hobby too seriously.

Pretty much anything by Forsining would do. They make mechanical watches for £20-30 a pop. A random example:

As with pretty much all Forsinings: if the thing has pushers it's not a chrono, the pushers are for the calendar functions.

Armitron has a bunch of fun retro budget watches. I would suggest a Tetra or a Griffy.

Timex watches have become my crack cocaine.  Due to the affordability, I probably spend about 20 to 25 Grand on my habit in the last two years.  Lastly, they are damn good watches with a Heritage as impressive as many of the luxury brands.
