When was the last time you lost a watch?

Today my Casio AE1000W bit the dust. A real shame since I only recently replaced the battery. It survived a road trip through sixteen states and two theme park trips.

It has been a number of years since I had a watch end up in Valhalla.

When was the last time you had a watch end up in the dustbin?

Never.

But it's only been a little over 50 years.

I was lucky. Left my watch case with 2 G-Shocks almost a month ago during the chaos and confusion at the TSA check point when they had me empty my carry on because they couldn't recognize a CPAP machine. It definitely put a damper on my vacation, but they were luckily turned in to lost and found and I was able to get them back on my return. That's why I always advise people to travel with inexpensive watches.

Meant to add it to the 10 + year since, since poll options are limited and the poll cannot be edited after posting.

Very lucky you got them back. When I travel I tend to stick with a single cheap watch. That way if it breaks or gets lost then it's no big deal.

Indeed!! It helps that I have a good friend who works in lost and found. Just had to sign the authorization to release and he delivered it to my home. But yes, take an inexpensive watch when you travel, people!!

Ah yes, a birthday gift, as a child. As birthday outing, went to snooker hall. I put it down on side of table (as didn't like playing with it on and didn't want to scratch it). I forgot to pick it up after we left. I've mourned it ever since 😢.

My trusty Hamilton fell off my wrist after having worn it forever. I noticed it when I walked in the door of my apartment on W78th st. I retraced my steps all the way back to the park, but no luck. Strap must have given way.

Interesting story. As a new renter and being quite naive I invited a person I was talking to up to my apartment (1st bad decision). Then as we were leaving the apartment I noticed the flash of a ceramic bezel in his hands, asked for it immediately And he put it back on the table. He then said he forgot his phone ( second red flag). He put it down grabbed the phone. Though must have picked up the watch again without me noticing .

When I came back around 12 there was no sign of the Oris. Panic ensued. I ended up informing the staff which in turn threatened his lease agreement. The watch was handed over, though it didn’t feel the same, it felt dirty.

Ended up getting a full service done and sold it to my old man, he loves it especially the Blue dial.

Just the other day, I lost a watch. Literally, just lost it. It didnt die. I just misplaced it. Getting old sucks. Its just things, so it didnt matter. Those can be replaced.

Very true. A trick I do when I need it off the wrist but not such a rough activity, I just loop it through a belt loop and secure the strap.

Last time? Like this is a recurring event? 😮

I've broken a few watches. This make for at least 3 casios and 1 timex.

Going through an airport, left a gifted Boss watch in a security scanner tray and only realised after arriving home ☹️

On the plus side, it was pretty much the catalyst for getting into watches once I started searching for a replacement!

That's turning a negative into a positive

I lost a Mickey Mouse hand wound from childhood and a Star Wars digital. I also had a Casio or similar watch that played La Cucaracha. No joke. As an adult I’ve never lost one.

They totally need to bring that watch back

I was thinking about posting this question a few days ago. Late on the trigger, kudos! I lost my Casio Worldtimer and can't remember where I put it. I know it's in the house but to no avail.

I don't lose things so it's driving me crazy. Silver lining is it will set me back around $20 is dollars.

Might be one of those you replace it and then find it.

Lost a mid 90's citizen quartz two tone 33mm dressier watch in my buddies center console of his Jeep. Funny story how it got there, funny story how it was eventually found. Currently have it in the drawer of my watch box (sitting in pergatory kinda like it did in the center console).

I lost my Fischer space pen in my buddy's truck. Never did recover it. Luckily, I found a cheaper pocket pen alternative.

That's what will happen. $20 lesson, I'm not in shambles 😉. My pride is hurt more than anything.

I also got a boys size Omrga when I was 13 and lost it almost immediately. Parents weren’t thrilled

That's rough both times.

I've lost more of those pens than anything else in my life. It's constantly at the top of my 'buy again' page on Amazon. 🤣

You should look up Pokka Pens. Been carrying those for years. They have basic ones to all weather type pens. Stings a lot less losing one of those. 🤣
