One proper reissue of the original Seiko 5😍
Seiko released a new one-off model SRPK17 for their Seiko 5 lineup recreating the first Seiko 5 Sports model 6106-8120 from 1968.

It will be limited to 15555 pieces worldwide, released to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Seiko 5 series. It will come in a special box with Seiko 5 packaging which was used for the original model from 1968.
Case: 39.5mm
Lug to lug: 43mm
Thickness: 12.5mm
Lug width: 20mm
100m WR, curved hardlex and solid caseback.
Price: $440
Along with this model, three more designs were reissued with vintage colourways from the original Seiko 5 models for the 42mm 5KX models. These three models are not limited editions and are priced at $375.

They stuck to the original design and didn't change anything, except for the writing on the dial. The bracelet looks solid and looks better compared to the current Seiko 5s. Going to pick this one up definitely once it is available 👌

LE of 15000+ doesnt really strike me as an exclusive enough, you know. I shall personally wait for a brand new Seiko Spring Drive (Save the Money Edition) Cocktail Time "Clear Spring", re-re-release of vintage, inspired by Grand Seiko, ft Pitbull with 30k pieces at least. Now thats exclusive!

To Seiko, reissue means tack on $120 apparently.
Cheap enough & good looking, I'll keep an eye out for one of the LE's. Can't say the others appeal tbh.

I'm surprised at the number. It could have been 55,555 given how it's the 55th anniversary of a seiko 5.
It’s just like a Seiko five except it’s limited and expensive and only for people with money. So nothing like an actual Seiko five.

Its a one off reissue and this case design would not be a part of Seiko 5 lineup after it is sold out.
So apparently they are just making it as a limited run and discontinuing the model afterwards.

Most limited edition Seiko 5s have always been around $450 and the pricing is nothing new. You just pick them up with a discount from an AD.

You will usually get a 10-15% discount if you buy from a Seiko AD for most Seiko models or sometimes more depending on the model.
The re release is awesome. I have a blue rally diver
$450 for a Seiko 5 is a price I’m not sure I’m mentally prepared to pay for. You can get a Samurai/Turtle with Prospex specs and logo any day for that price.

I've always liked Seiko. And then when I realized there is no rhyme or reason to anything they do, I really started liking them.
