2023 is coming to its end, so why not share my watch collection end of year summary, since I’m not willing to buy any new watches any time soon.
I’ve had drastically different watches by the end of 2022, big and sporty Seiko CS Sports, MoonSwatch Saturn and a old trusty SNK803. Later I’ve acquired a Seiko Speedtimer Panda, Murph 38 and Venezianico Nereide GMT
Those watches are stylish and beautiful, and while I was happy to be able to wear such things every day, sometimes it just didn’t felt right. Something was off.
I didn’t know what was really wrong then, but I got a hint of what’s going on by randomly getting a neo-vintage early 00s Raymond Weil Tradition 5768/2. I don’t know what was the reasoning behind this purchase, I just randomly stumbled across it on the internet and thought that I want to try a Tank. Small dress watch seemingly wasn’t a great fit into my heavily workwear inspired wardrobe, but man, little did I know.
Small dress rectangular watch was an instant perfect fit. Elegant, but brutalistic, just as an original Tank which is, in my opinion, the definition of a laid-back class. And than it hit me straight on a head - I wasn’t feeling right wearing sports watches because I’m not really into sports watches. And this realization triggered some self-awareness. I’m wearing wool pants way more than jeans. I wear a corduroy blue shirt more than a t-shirt. And I usually go for a jacket instead of hoodie. If I get so much inspiration from a 60s mod scene and classic workwear, I might as well wear a watch from an good old days of watchmaking. Specially because very few new releases triggers my interest, but I can be just sitting and enjoying photos of two tone vintage datejusts for hours.
So yeah, that’s how my watch collection looks today. I’m pretty happy with this simple selection of vintage Orient, vintage two-tone “cheeky” Tissot, a versatile dress watch that doubles as a GADA (well, depends on what “anywhere” means in your lifestyle) and a Murph.
I think that I’m absolutely set for now, and i I’m gonna save a bit of cash for a higher tier watches - like vintage Omega and Tudor, and maybe a Cartier and Rolex in a very distant future. And I also have one watch in a mail, which I don’t know when it’s gonna be delivered, but this watch is really special, and I’m gonna post about it)

thanks)
Very nice. I've also nearly hit the "buy" button on the Speedtimer!
Classy collection. Never though of putting a leather croc strap on a Khaki Field but it works. 🤙🏻
Neve me thought a Brown strap would look so good on the Murph!

Murph originally comes with a black croc leather strap, but I’ve decided to go for purple.
Raymond Weil also comes with a black croc, but I’ve decided to go with red. Just to add a little touch of colour

I should have noticed it was the Murph. Nicely done.
Very eclectic, I especially like the Vinizianico.
Nice speed timer panda :)
You hae me at Murph👌👌👌👌
What’s the model of that tissot?
I love that Vintage Orient! My tastes have skewed the opposite direction as yours likely because I work remotely. As a result my daily attire is typically made up of Lululemon, Gymshark, or Cabela's (non-workout days). Don't judge me I rarely leave the house during the work week :(.
If you mention Christmas in October I'm blocking you 😂 Lovely collection BTW.
Ok. But can we take a moment to appreciate posing watches with sodas? I mean, in a world of "look at my watch and some scotch" these photos are "I'm not putting my Pepsi down just to take a wrist shot..."
I love it. 10/10. No notes.
Beautiful and stylish collection! Congrats, man, that's a lot of class. Love that Tissot!

this is C-350G.
Not the most common Seastar model out there.

I'm not putting my diet Pepsi down for anything!
I can even pour some scotch inside and no-one will tell)))
It's already a series
Beautiful and stylish collection! Congrats, man, that's a lot of class. Love that Tissot!
Thanks!)
The Tissot and Raymond Weil are my favorites in your collection. Great taste!

Appreciate it.
I think those 2 are also my personal favorites in my own collection.
Given that both pieces combined costed me less than 300$, I think I got extremely lucky.
The similarities continue! I paid $292 for my Tissot and Raymond Weil!
Too funny!

Ooh, you also have a RW Tradition!
I’ve been on a fence of getting your model actually)

It wears so well on my wrist that I don't even know it's there! And the AR on the sapphire is the best in my collection, hands down. 👍
