Hello friends! Today's question is a little weird, but I hope you like it. Which would you choose and WHY?

I like choices lol

Cheers!

Not really a weird question around here. I choose variety.

·

Not necessarily a price thing, but the older I get the more I look for that one watch that fills it all.

I wouldn't take a 100k Royal Oak over a few good, cheaper pieces cause I aint a fan of the design. But a Credor Eichi II or an A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph in salmon would quench all thirst.

·

I like variety, but I also appreciate quality, so the answer would depend on how you define "expensive" and "mid-class". I'd rather have one $10K watch than multiple $1K watches, but I'd rather have multiple $10K watches than a single $100K watch.

·

I'd prefer several mid-class watches for variety and not having to worry about babying one expensive one. That said, for any given budget, I could see having one "more expensive" watch and a "bunch of less expensive watches" as opposed to all mid-tier.

·

Little column A and a little column B. If one has the means, many here do, they can equally own a $10k watch and 10 $1k watches.

If I were on a budget, I’d rather save, then again, having a $10k watch on a budget where one may struggle to make ends meet, seems oddly mis-prioritized.

·

I prefer variety and I like that I wouldn't have to worry too much about my watch, if anything happened to one, I'd still have another 11 to fall back on.

·

It's like saying can you live with just one watch/ grail/ last watch? If the answer is yes, you are far better than me. Ever since I got my supposed grail (last watch before I retire/ die), I got the bug and have not stopped getting more watches since.

·

I chose A. I like the dream of that 1 watch for everything. Once upon a time, people only had that 1 watch that they used everyday and then handed it to their children who then handed it to their children.

Did Patek advertising actually brainwash me? Evidence will show that this is the case.

·

It kind of depends where one is at in their watch obsession.

At this point, I have variety, but really my main focus is the Grail. I would like a couple other affordable choices (bronze, Ranger-esque field), but they are not must-haves.

Variety rules, plus you can always distill later.....

None of those alternatives... I simply never buy any watch that cost over 280 euro and the most expensive was actually 133 euro... Then do I only buy rather amazing watches that I really like (never any boring alternatives) even if it may take many years between my findings!

The result was that I did began with just one Grail (or dream) watch, then did I change to another Grail (my Casio oceanus 200m) and bought one more Grail, to have as a great alternative - the following 33 years!

Except a few extra dress watches I never used...

Then did I find my Grail titanium from Skagen, bough a reserve Seiko titanium, got an exclusive Rado copy as a present, bought an Armani ceramic from a fine English shop (that also was a copy, so I got my money back) as an alternative to the Seiko, five truly amazing Chinese skeletons to have as home decoration and a digital Casio 100m to have when I work with my boat - under the last 11 years...

And now did I suddenly find 5 more amazing watches, this year!

My first Grail, that I got crazy and sold...

Beautiful story, nice watches!

·

If you do different things like ... yard work, swimming, hiking, going to nice restaurants, working on your house (painting, light carpentry) ... you're going to want more than one watch to do those things. Yes, you can wear just one watch and if you love it even with battle scars then great, but most people cant wear their Hamilton cooper while at the beach or digging holes. (at least I couldn't)
