BEST GADA WATCH?

What is the best go anywhere do anything watch out there. I‘ve been wanting to scratch that itch of a GADA watch. If it’s the right watch I might be a one watch collection guy! I’d preferably want it to be 34mm the smallest or 39mm the biggest, but I’m also open to 40mm if it’s the right look. Id really like something oyster style that keeps great time and around 3000 or less. Let me know!!!

Sits back, grabs the popcorn . . . this should be good!😜

I’d go used BB58 and be done. There are a Ton of options from a Khaki Field, Sinn 104, Monta Noble, plenty of GS, Oris, etc. All depends on style. I like the Noble for the value spend based on your preference for Oyster style.

I did think of the BB58 the countdown timer is a great feature

I’m in the same boat, looking for a GADA watch in blue with a date, at least 100m. I’ve been torn between the 3 branda… Longines Spirit (37/40/42) or Spirit Zulu (42 GMT); Tudor’s BB58 Blue, BBPro, or Ranger; or from Omega the Aqua Terra 41 or Railmaster.  I already have the new Speedy, so I’m leaning more towards the Longines or Tudor. I know some of those are more than $3000, but then I’d look used or Jomashop.

I mean where does one even begin. So many great options. The polished elements of the BB58 allow it to be dressed up a little easier. And it can go 100m deepest, so can literally go to more places than the Ranger. But either are good options to be honest.

If you want a true GADA watch, I'd recommend checking out the CW C63.

It's nice enough that it can dress up on a leather strap, but durable enough to throw on a bracelet or MN strap, and wear while doing pretty much anything. It's also affordable enough that you don't need to think about it, and you could buy four of them for the price of a new BB58.

CW just dropped a more vintage/dressy GADA as well, the C65 Dune. Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I suspect it will be well made and perfect for dressing up and more casual wear.

Man those are all watches that I’ve been thinking about! The ranger is very tempting as well as the Spirit Zulu

The bracelet is such a big selling point for Tudor at that price

I’ve never been crazy about CW watches but I will check them out for that price point

The Longines Spirit 37mm will check a lot of boxes for you. That said, if you truly think you might go to a one watch collection, splirge for a Rolex Explorer or Oyster Perpetual. It’s not out of your budget if it’s your one and only.

Of all the Tudors I tried on this past weekend… the BB58 Blue and the Ranger on the fabric strap were the most comfortable to me. Despite all the concerns about the Pro being too thick, I didn’t think so at all. I thought the previous heritage BB 41 was way chunkier (which I also tried on).

Really like Monta but the import tax to the UK makes this a little too expensive. Bracelet and clasp is 🔥

For GADA watches I usually say the Aqua Terra, and that's still a great option if it's in the price range.

Since I bought a CW C63 Sealander (GMT) I  think the regular Sealander (36mm or 39mm) comes really close for a whole lot less money.

This is an option I’ve thought about

If Monta is not you cup of tea and looking for something with more heritage you cannot go wrong with Longiness Spirit 37. If U got 6.25 to 7 inchs wrist the lug to lug should be great. I would even try the Zulu time and have a GMT with GADA looks. Happy hunting!

It doesn't matter if that person wears it or not, if he thinks he could wear it to anywhere and do anything with that watch it's a GADA watch to that person. For example my fav GADA watch is Omega aquaterra, but I'd never wear it for everywhere all the time and do everything with it, I'll treasure it because to me it's a grail watch, but that doesn't change the fact that it's my ideal GADA watch in the whole world. Instead I'll also buy a Seiko watch that has similar characteristics and wear it all the time.

You and me are in the same boat there, with the same watch. I also have an Aqua Terra. But I'm more likely to wear my AT when riding a bike or going to the beach than I would wear a G-Shock into my office wearing business attire. So for me, the AT is more a GADA watch than a G-Shock. For someone else, it could be the exact opposite.

I think the tudor bb pro is the best value for money gada watch.  39mm case.  T-fit clasp with microadjust. Gmt and date.  200m water resistance. Excellent lume and highly legible dial. All for $4150

The best go anywhere, do anything watch?  There is only one answer: Casio G-Shock DW5600.

I could take myself seriously in a suit with a G-Shock on my wrist. It's about the same as wearing trainers with a suit.

You are different my friend 😂👍 but I like that..

A lot of excellent suggestions. For the price range, these are the first three that pop into my head. Otherwise, it's the Omega Aqua Terra imo

Casio G-Shock, or a cheap diver.

While my first impulse was to simply say, "anything can be a GADA watch" while referencing my Seamaster 300 GMT which I wear daily. But the truth is that in the past month there were two days that I did not wear my Omega: one day was car maintenance day and I wasn't about to get my Omega covered in oil and grease; the other was garage demo day because I am renovating my watch. My wife and I are also renovating our basement this year, so there will be many more days this year where I will be leaving the Omega in my watch box. I also would not wear my Omega in the pool or ocean, since it is now 25 years old.

I plan to get either an Orient dive watch or a cheap G-Shock for days where I'm working on the house. Who knows, maybe I'll even go for the Orient when going on vacation where water is involved and the G-Shock for working on the cars/house, since both watches are under $250 combined.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that the Orient and G-Shock are GADA watches either though, because if I'm not in the water, under a car, or renovating my house, I'd rather be wearing my Omega.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is get two watches; the watch you want to wear 335 days of the year, and the watch you don't mind wearing the other 30.

The Vet card doesn't work on me, I'm still in and have better fashion sense than that.

If people want their identity to be the "Vet Bro" guy  with a G-Shock, Willy X sunglasses, with a Rip-It in hard at the office, rock on. I'll take a watch better suited to the task. 😉

Accurate, legible, almost indestructible, I am not sure there is a watch more suited to the Go anywhere, do anything requirement.

Thats like me arguing my Altberg Defenders are the perfect footwear for everywhere. They are comfortable, durable, waterproof, and leather so can take a shine... Except I'd look silly in a suit with combat boots on.

Wear a G-Shock in a suit if it makes you happy, just be aware that it sends a message, and maybe it's not the message you want to send.

Everybody lives a different life, but for most office dwellers a G-Shock is a not a GADA.

·

I disagree but I am obviously not going to convince you otherwise.  All I have to say is that if I could only have one watch, at any price point, it would be a DW-5600.  Oh, and I sit on the boards of two multi-million dollar non-profits.

·

Longines Spirit 37mm or 40mm.

·

Lot's has been said about what a GADA is both here and in other forums and I guess from which angle you are coming from but from my point of view the best GADA is the Rolex Explorer.

Not only does it keep a 100m WR but it is one of the more reliable watches around. It is simple and does the job. It works perfectly with a pair of swim trunks on the beach, with jeans and t-shirt at home or with a suit.

It stays neutrual no matter what. No complication, only a simple three hander yet the 3-6-9 makes it fun enough.

OK so why not an OP or an OP with the 3-6-9 dial? While that is a great watch in my view it has one flaw; the size of the crown. While the crown on the OP stands out it is small enough not to get noticed on the Rolex.

I like the wempe… I think it’s real value watch compared to the other similar looking watches there affordable.

My impression from the AD:
