In "2414.00/219823", the 2414.00 refers to the movement, 12 hours with date. The 219 refers to the case and 823 the style (bezel, finish, and dial).

You can swap the bezel from any 219 case to another. Using a rotating bezel on all models lowers production costs.

That's why I got a refurbished Glycine Airman GMT. Although I travel with a Casio having the world time function (my beloved's is a Royale, mine is a round version) as one button cycles between four time zones and two buttons set one of these four to the main time.

Not mechanical, yet an example of how a purpose built tool (a watch) is better than a generic tool (a smartphone) for certain tasks.

Got my beloved a Coach ceramic quartz time watch from Macy's Last Act. Nice embossed dial and bezel rhinestones. The retail was $300 yet there is not $300 worth of watch. We paid less than half and that was still a value stretch.

I'd define a fashion watch as one that sells new for much more than its horological value. Or depreciates to less than 20% of its new price. The Tambour models you mention meet that criteria.

Bulgari and Cartier? Just try getting an iconic one in like new condition for less than half retail. Genuine watches, period. Cheers.

Before Skagen was acquired by Fossil, many of their models were under 10mm. Don't know about now.

These are all quartz models. Sub-10mm automatics are hard to find.

Today's Hammy is the H76712151 Khaki Air Race three-register quartz, accurate to a second a month. Hamilton is the official timekeeper of Red Bull Air Racing, which is stamped on the solid case back. My beloved is wearing the matching H76225151 three hander plus date with an H10 automatic movement.
