I do not like the cyclops one bit. I also have pretty good eyesight. My dad wears a sub with a cyclops and his eyesight isn’t so great so the cyclops lens is pretty clutch for him.

What do you find annoying about it? I've never had a Rolex, so functionally I cannot speak to that feature, but I can tell you that is a tell tale sign of a Rolex from a layman's perspective. That's why they probably don't go away. It's iconic and very much Rolex so for those looking to project onto others, that's a element of the watch that certainly does it.

The cyclops is distracting the dial’s overall design & aesthetics. An eye sore to me at times.

FYI, there's lots of watches that have cyclops that aren't made by Rolex.
I have a Sub Date but the version I have doesn’t have the option of a No Date. As a daily, the date function is probably more useful than the time. Time is everywhere but seeing the date at a glance is useful.
That said, I don’t think I’d ever own a black Sub Date. The cyclops annoys me too. It’s fine one the GMTs but on a diver it’s annoying to me.

The general population associates that feature with Rolex, trust me. I did before I got into the hobby. I had no idea that other manufacturers did it. That's how well Rolex is known for it.

As a purist, I don't see why a dive watch has to have a date. That's all. The original mil spec didn't have that. I know most people prefer it tho.
I don't have a sub, but I think the cyclops gives it character. I have other watches with a cyclops and it does help me read the tiny date window. My eyes are not the best!
I hate the cyclops. It makes it harder to read the date. You can’t just casually glance at it and see the date. It takes a dedicated effort to raise your arm and twist it to look straight down the lens to see anything.
Here’s one more photo of a Sub at an angle most would find comfortable to check the date. But you can’t see it.

Yeah, that cyclops is quite annoying. Nice photo looks great 👍🏻

No date version for me

Perhaps I should also get the no-date Sub. 😘

I love it, but the cyclops on my prodiver is a gouge magnet
*** Wonders how a watch would look with 12 cyclopses... 🤔
I’m not a fan of the cyclops that’s why I chose the no date sub. The cyclops is less noticeable on my white datejust, however.
It's part of it, I do believe that certain watches need them to look how they should
It’s a great shot and enjoy the watch in great health ⭐️
Damn right, you should feel like that sometimes
Very nice photo, well done 🤜🤛
The watch is an evergreen 🔥
I have a no date but I like the date as well. Doesn't/ wouldn't annoy me.
I quite like the cyclops on my Submariner. It's iconic. 🤷🏼♂️ I could do without on my Seikos though.

Nop i love it and is very useful for my poor and old eyes

Not cyclopi? 😀

I just realized. It’s like watery blister

That is a beautiful shot and outstanding watch! 💯
I tip thine hat to the OG #divewatch good sir.
I like the cyclops!! I wouldn't buy a watch with one if I didn't. Especially when they sell one without
I loathe cyclops. And have removed several. But that's a damned nice photo.
