Hi everyone, my name is Illya and I am almost 24 y/o Ukrainian living in Spain! I started wearing watches since very young with my Casio FW91. I also remember my grandpa, who was a military pilor, wear his Komandirskie but unfortunately he passed away too young and had no time to teach me watches.
After I began making some money I, for some reason, began to remember the feeling wearing a watch gave me, and at 15 y/o I bought a fake GShock on Aliexpress that costed 8€, had alarms, timer, 100m resistance and was extremely light, and I used it for s long time. I also used to buy cheap wooden watches as they seemed cool. At 16 for some time I was buying .90 cents fashion “watches” and selling them for 5€ in my school and neighbourhood. After I turned 18 and could legally work I spent my first money on real watches, although I had mo knowledge so I bought and automatic Akriboss and a “chrono” Versus Versace.
Last year I bumped into Nico Leonard’s video reacting to watches and watched his whole channel in a day, I never knew there were so many things to learn and my passion grew exponentially. I am also a tech savy so I bought a lovely Fossil Hybrid HR, which is a great watch, then I bought a vintage casio, my girlfriend got me a Gshock for my last birthday and I bought myself an Edifice last month as an award for landing a good job!
I am now looking into brands like Seiko, Orient and Citizen to get my first automatic watch that would have some history.
Sorry for such a long lifestory considering I am so young, thanks for reading in case you did and a pleasure meeting everybody in this community, I hope to learn a lot!
