Need help deciding on a do-it-all “bullet proof” watch!

Hi all, I’m in the process of selecting what I hope will be my go-to “do it all” watch, which could very well be the final watch I buy (or at least last one for a long time). My main criteria are superb antimagnetism and enough water resistance for surfing, snorkeling, and swimming (not scuba diving though). I also would love some stylistic versatility and for the watch to be dressed up as well as down, and a modest enough size for my 7.25” wrist. I wear business casual attire to work most days, putting on a suit occasionally. Weekend attire is very casual and I enjoy adventure-based travel with lots of hiking and water sports. I pretty much have my mind set on some METAS certified watch because of the magnetic resistance, but am not sure about the aesthetic versatility of the Omega divers, for example. I love the look of the Aqua Terra line, but a bracelet with polished center links and no micro adjustment is hard to swallow. Thank you all!

Maybe the Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage in Black. I have the Blue myself but Black might be a little more understated and could work better with a suit. The 300 Heritage would be a better choice than the Diver 300M based on your requirements.

I have a AT and it is the perfect GADA. In the sun, it comes alive!

Seems like it would! How’s the bracelet? Knowing myself, any polished center links would be scratched beyond recognition within an hour of putting it on lol. Does the lack of microadjust cause problems?

IWC Aquatimer or JLC Polaris

·

Seamaster 300 I would say and like @Meglos said in black.

·

Have you considered something from Sinn? Maybe the 556 or the 104? I love my Tudor Black Bay 36, certainly capable of doing everything you listed above

I've never had an issue with the bracelet. It does get scratches but mostly where I put my wrist on the computer so it's a whatever for me. The AD sized it for me and it fits perfectly without microadjustments.

Should definitely be a diver

Milgauss or AT win this for me, with a nod to the Milgauss for bracelet. Both great.

·

Definitely the Aqua Terra. It nails all your criteria, as if it was designed explicitly for your use case.

·

Explorer!! No question.

By far my most all round and capable watch.

·

GADA is called that for a reason! Aquaterra/oyster for sure

·

Explorer I - easy to dress up and down. I chose the two tone one and love it.

Aqua Terra checks all these boxes IMO!

·

A seamaster diver 300 in rubber strap would be great for your wrist size.

If looks are not an issue, a gshock will be your best option. "Bulletproof" as can be

·

Consider a Railmaster, it’s less polished. No micro adjustments but sturdy as can be.

·

Explorer II.

·

AT 38mm if you like smaller and 41mm if you like bigger watches.

·

To cover all your bases, you need the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic.

·

I'm biased...

But you could also consider Grand Seiko, especially if you want it to dress up and down and want something accurate.

IWC Pilot Marks are also pretty versatile (maybe more fieldy, lessy dressy).

Sinn 556

Literally bullet proof
