Seafarer or Astra?

As I am discovering all those beautiful watches, I keep coming back to both of them. I like the dressy side of the Astra and I love the color options and smooth lines of the Seafarer. If you own one, how do you like them and why?

A #lorier for me 🙌🏼

Love Lorier, full stop.

For you I'd say it'd come down to use case.

Need something to skip under a cuff, and do light duty as a dressier watch Astra.

Want the added functionality of a bezel, and dig the compressor look, Traska.

OR

You could buy a Gen I or II Hydra from Lorier..🤯😂😉

Only gonna find used ones, but it was a compressor style Lorier.

·

My input: I’m a simple man. I’m always biased to a smaller case.

Whichever is small is my choice

I saw those in a video about the special release with worn and wound, I believe. To be honest, I like the whole range of Lorier, the Hydra is just a bit boring colorwise. But the Astra is just so adorable. White or blue, both are fantastic.

So the Lorier wins by 36mm to 39/40mm, iirc.

Here's the Falcon, on a 6.5", same case size, just different movement and dial.

The Falcon has a nice case, but it is not evoking the same feelings as the Astra, Neptune or Hydra. Maybe it is the black dial, but I can’t put my finger on it.

All good. Just wanted to show what that case size looks like out in the world.

Extremely versatile, light wearing, and relatively thin too.

I haven’t really wanted to wear anything else since I got my Astra in November. My picture sucks but it’s fantastic. Very comfortable and it looks great, I have no comlaints.

Love Lorier. The Astra is my favorite.

I bet this is a nice watch. Maybe the next iteration is more my type of dial.

·

#lorier easy decision!

I am torn between the all white dial and the blue version. Yours looks just stunning!

Thanks! I think they’re both beautiful in different ways. I had no interest in the white one initially but the more pictures I see the more I like it. You can’t go wrong either way 😁

I like the Seafarer but then again, I am not a date guy. I do own a Traska and and have had it for years now -- not a single scratch on it.

·

Don’t be a fool. Get both. 🤩

To get means to pay. And pay VAT. But yeah, that would be awesome 😆

Their steel seems to be just impossible to scratch.

·

that color combo on the traska is awesome!!!! But I prefer the dial and case on the Lorier (I'm a big fan of crosshair dials).

·

The Lorier Astra has some of the most beautiful lume application I’ve seen on a watch. I love the Traska, but for me it’s the Astra.

·

Never owned either. But if daily wear, the traska for sure. The sapphire crystal and hardened case. Big plus!

·

You know I tried on the Lorier gmt (hyperion) and the finishing on the case and bracelet I thought was subpar my $200 quartz Swiss Army watch (the one I had for years before I got the watch collecting bug). I was surprised, considering how many people rave about Lorier. I love the look of the blue Astra. I'm going to wait to try it on next I'm in NYC. Think the Traska is awesome, but I haven't seen it in person and I've learned the hard way to always try a watch on before buying (if I can)

They are indeed! Good eye 👏🏻here’s the whole thing

I think you hit it on the head describing the Traska as "smooth". The Lorier has sharp angles and is a seriously beautiful peace. The Traska has rounded facets and gives a more fun, casual look. For me it's gotta be the Astra, it's grown on me for awhile into a full grown mini-grail. Gorgeous.

Sadly for me, it seems impossible in Europe to try on such watches. Even a trip to France for Baltic would cost me half a watch 😃 But I am with you: Trying on would be the best option and I would really like to see if I bond with them right away.

I have a Traska but that Lorier is a thing of beauty
