Let's get through it, shall we? The first release of the Mission to Moonswatch, I was naive. I thought we'd all be watch lovers in the line (a short one, not the craziness that ensued on the day) wanting a piece of something fun.
This year, I'm wiser.
Is it still bioceramic? Yes. Is it still a ploy to get my money, yes to that too.
It's marketing at it's best.
Will I want one? Yes! I can be honest with that.
But I won't fall in line a day in advance just to get one.
I'll wait for that day, when I'm enjoying a weekend morning, casually strolling and fancy entering the Swatch shop to get one.
And if not, then it's only a matter of time, right.
That's my pre-weekend ramble and wishing you all a nice Friday and a good start into the weekend 🥂

To be totally honest, the resemblance to the actual Moonwatch appeals so much to me.
Still cannot justify the price for a plastic watch with quartz movement, though. With that price I can get much better steel watches.
But then this hobby is not logical at all..

Exactly and well said. When I purchase a watch, it's done with a lot of research and budget considerations.
Then this watch comes along and blows away that principle.
I don't like that I do this - so I compensate with buying it when I don't have to jump over hoops for it.
That said, I'm annoyed I like it😄😅

Yes! That's a plan. Why queue in the cold when I can sit in a bar with good company and grab one at my leisure 😊

The last time that I stood in a queue for any watch was almost 30 years ago when my wife wanted this Swatch designed by one of her heroes: Vivienne Westwood named ORB! I was the single suit in a cohort of Swatch fans including an affable young tourist visiting Toronto from Italy with his family. I think about my young acquaintance sometimes and his massive collection of plastic Swatches, did he continue or did he become an adult collector buying up Daytonas and Panerais? We communicated by mail for a few years but if he is on Watch Crunch, I extend a greeting. Wonder if he will be queuing for the Snoopy? I might eventually pick one up for my baby grand daughter but won’t be standing in any mob.

The guys I was in the queue (like you, I was the mom in the line of 20yr olds lol) with were really just fun people and we no longer really speak but I cherish the memory.

In a few years time if I’m anywhere near a swatch boutique (none here in Ireland as far as I’m aware)and I feel the urge I may well pick one up. I’ve been lucky enough to have been gifted the two models of moonswatch I have in the colours I wanted 😁😎
OK, Here we go (again...) I cant wait to see what the price is on eBay on Saturday with all the low-life flippers trying to make a sleazy buck. The boutique will get five watches and 250 people (of which 25 are collectors) will be lined up outside the door...

I am not interested at all. Maybe for $50.00, but the qc and longevity issues make it a hard pass at the current asking price.
I’m planning on casually strolling in on opening day and walking out with one. Minnesota Nice is good for some things sometimes 😂 We line up at the Minnesota State Fair for deep fried cheese curds not at watch stores. I’ll be very surprised if there are more than a dozen people waiting outside of our Swatch Boutique.
This is the first search collab that's tempted me. But like the others said, I won't wait on line. I'll get it when it's freely available.
