New Christopher Ward C1 Moonphase - what do we think?

To me its another "Bel Canto" like smash hit. And I've ordered one on the blue strap.

It reminds me a lot of Federico's special watch made with Tourby - only this one comes with the whole extra moonphase complication.

If I was to look for negatives - is it a little big for the design? Is it a shame the upper and lower parts of the dials arent a little closer together?

In hand pics when I have it!

Nice, but a bit big and optimistically priced .

·

Amazing looking watch! Waiting for the wrist pics but great pics!

·

WoW! Congratulations!

·

I saw it at Windup. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

·

I really like it, but unlike other Christopher Ward watches, doesn't seem very competitively priced to me.

·

I Love Christopher Ward watches, and this is a beauty.

·

Thought this was a Moser at first glance 👌🤙

·

Very pretty, looks great

·

Very unique and clean 👌

·

Yeah I actually quite like that… hmmm

·

I like the design but 48 mm L2L and over 13 mm thick is too massive for this dressy style for my liking (and my tiny wrists) so this one will be a pass for me.

The price also seems oddly high compared to the rest of their offering. I'm surprised to see this more simple complication in the same price range as the Bel Canto. That doesn't seem right, especially for CW.

·

CW established itself pretty decently, so why not move the prices up a notch?

The watch looks nice, but IMHO not 2500€ nice, CW is definitely moving towards the "entry level luxury" market and out of the "microbrand/enthusiast" market.

It's undeniably very pretty, but for me personally it's much too large for a dressier watch 🫤

·

Nice but I wish the did indicies on the crystal.

·

Absolutely love the look and if I was in need of a dress watch this would be an immediate buy. Not in the market but I love the look of this one and am fighting some serious impulses right now…

Comparing CW to Lange and AP to prove the point doesn't really make me see this any differently.

I think you missed the point. I wasn't comparing brands, I was comparing watches with adventurine dials and CW's, which you said was overpriced, is 1/4 the price of the cheapest of the others. That doesn't indicate something? Like maybe it's not cheap to make? If I was looking for an adventurine dial watch, the CW is a bargain.

I understood your point. My point was that the dial is not really the main differentiator between the brands so to use it to demonstrate value isn't, in my opinion, valid.

But I'm not looking to change anyone's opinion. Just giving mine.

·

As a lover of all things space, I love this. Moon phase is a useless complication but I'm a complete sucker for it.

·

Its a conversation piece for sure but I’d get the Bel Canto first

·

Probably not for me, probably, but bravo for doing it and kudos for using aventurine. I have an aventurine dial smiths everest silver jubilee that I adore and using that material for a moonphase is a stroke of genius IMHO.

·

I'd like to see CW bring out a 'normal' watch with a longer power reserve. A non-diver, and below 1k. They have some very tough competition with no less quality: Formex, Wise, to name just a couple.

This moonphase is a novelty, luxury piece, but it serves some long term, brand establishment strategy, I guess. Not for me.

·

I wish it was thinner 🥲

I knew I had seen it somewhere!

With that comparison though the price isn’t terrible if that’s the sort of watch you want style wise.

·

Not for me. Ochs und junior moonphase please.

·

I just don’t like the price point. Needs to come down $1k, whereas I would pay and extra $1k for the Bel Canto.

Smaller size without the moon, would have definitely wanted one 👌

I'm really liking this, but with two CW orders delayed and a return not likely to be back with me until February, I'll not be buying just yet.
