Omega X Swatch

From all the comments it looks like this watch is fake. I really want to know how I can tell its fake. Please teach me. I'm totally done buying watches online! Thanks

Interested to hear what people here think about this watch. Which watch do you have and your thoughts. Would you even purchase this watch? Honestly it feels like a toy watch but I must say, it looks pretty cool. Highly doubt it's dependability and toughness. I can barely feel it on my wrist.

OMEGA X SWATCH celebrates the iconic Speedmaster Moonwatch, the first watch ever worn on the Moon. The Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection is the result of an unexpected, provocative, and visionary partnership — a first between Swatch and OMEGA.

Why on Earth would anyone bother to post the Swatch marketing copy?!

I went to the Swatch boutique here in Seville a couple of months ago just to try it (they have plenty of stock in every colours), and really liked the look of it. However I felt the watch extremely fragile and plastic like, and didn't gave me any "Omega vibes" so all thoughts of buying it disappeared instantly. These are just my thoughts, and of course I still love the look of all those colorful versions apart from this one (the best one), but I realise I'm very used to wearing stainless steel watches so It's hard for me to make a move like that :)

Anyways I hope this piece brings you a lot of fun and joy. Have a nice day!

·

Great comment, I'm new to watch collecting and feel the same as you do. I want to feel some substance on my wrist. But this watch feeling so light is kinda nice.

·

If you like Swatch or Omega I think this is a fun piece. For the people that want something with more quality nothing comes close to the Bulova Lunar Pilot.

I like it but it’s a Swatch and nothing wrong with that. If it was £100 ish I would probably have one but with a little bit of extra wording it is a lot more. Great for those who like and have them but not for me.

·

Sadly for you, that's a fake Moonswatch.

The one in the photos can be had for around $40 because it's a Chinese copy.

I have most of them and love them. Yeah they are light and feel fragile but are great to wear. At times I even forget I have a watch on.

Personally I’d avoid buying online and go into a swatch store way too many fakes out there

·

I have this watch.. in fact I have the special edition version with the Gold needle .. I am quite happy 👍

That's a real bummer, how can I tell it's fake? Thanks for your comments

That's what I've been learning. How can I tell it's fake?

Looks like I've been tricked into buying a fake watch. I'm done buying watches online!

Quite a few tells, but the ones that caught my attention:

Pushers stand out too much.

Crown is too smooth. Real ones have sharper edges on the crown.

Colour is wrong and too shiny. Real ones are more Matt finished.

3 o'clock sub register shouldn't wander unless the Chrono is being used. It's a good sign that the movement is incorrect.

Then there's the box which has a few give aways, and the back of the watch usually has some poorly etched or misalignment of the font.

It’s really hard to tell if they’re fake because the original feels pretty flimsy

I'd agree - you're not missing out hugely on having a 'fake'.

But you shouldn't be paying 'real' money for a fake.

Thanks, I like the watch so maybe I'll buy a new (Real) Moonwatch from a Swatch Dealer

They’re not that expensive if you buy from swatch , but people resell them with a big mark up

The real one has a matte texture and sharp lines, not smooth edges. Honestly? It's the bioceramic. It makes a clean sharp edge.

There's also texture in the subdials, rings.

You can see a bit of foil or something under the bezel at an angle.

On the back the lugs are sharp and have subtle indents in them.

Color is a big one, they often don't match the color.

If it's in hand you can tell by the movement frequently too. The real one has a tenth of a second indicator on the top right subdial, and ticks, then goes smoothly back to 12 on reset, making a whirring or fast ticking noise.

The biggest tell is usually the texture. They've gotten better at aligning the dial, printing the "Tachymetre" so it doesn't look slightly jumbled, but they can't replicate the texture with normal plastic.

Also, so glad you're asking. I see fakes posted on here quite a bit from people who seem to think they're real and I feel bad, but don't want to call it out. 😅

Its OK though my friend the real ones are fake too 🙄😂as long as you didn't get ripped off of course,if so get your money back 👍

No it's not. It's miles apart. Look at all the posts that list the issues.

Without looking close the first tell is the strap, for me can't tell the difference far off looking at the face, and what I meant about them being the same there both copies both plastic and both low end quartz 👍

Thank you
