I’ve been thinking about either a leather pass through strap, or an Erika’s strap. I don’t really like traditional NATOs, but I might try one of them as well. The goal is to make this a watch that I can share with my daughters (15, 17), so I need to find a strap that works for all of us.
Someone working at my local Omega Boutique told me that you can even go up to 10 years on the Co-Ax movements. To be fair, she might have been exaggerating a bit (I was debating between a Seamaster and BB58 [being sold at a AD a few blocks away])....
So, considered both, and ended up purchasing the Omega. I love it. I'm certain that the BB58 Silver is a great watch as well, but for me, the Omega was worth the price (I got it for $6000ish USD). With it, I got: 2 additional straps, a great bracelet (with on the fly micro adjustment), a METAS certified movement that runs about (0.5 sec/day fast) and needs servicing every 8-10 years (worst case).
I’ve been scouring watchuseek for a 38mm manual wound Hamilton Khaki “Earth-pvd” watch; I know I can get them for less than retail a few places (Jomashop or even Amazon), but would prefer to wait for until I find a one for sub $275
I feel like I need to see this in the metal before I weigh in. I love the color blue, and the coating will help with the "scratch magnet" problem. All that being said, it does feel a little odd
