new Omega?

So, it looks like Omega is teasing a new diver on instagram. I assume it’s a new Planet Ocean, but maybe it’s something different all together. Any thoughts?

A few days ago Omega posted a teaser on Instagram that was a side profile shot - it looked really think.  Either way, I am excited to see it.

Have there been any announcements on release dates for Omega?  I don't believe they they are at Watches and Wonders on 3/30.

I was in the Boutique a few weeks ago trying to get intel on what’s new; the sales associate claimed ignorance, but did say that the manager was heading to Miami to see what Omega had planned  for their spring drop.

·

I saw a reference to the year 1932, so I can only assume it’s going to be a tribute to the Omega Marine dive watch from that year.

·

I‘m not 100% sure but i have heard they will dropp a new watch on monday the 7th.

Can‘t wait!!!

·

I wonder if this will be 20mm thick and rated to 2000m… 🙄

One if the main reasons that Omega divers do nothing for me is that they are fat, well fat.

·

I hope they don’t ruin the Marine. Already I’m worried as this watch is round and the Marine was square.

Starts saying 1932—2022…

Definitely the new range of Planet Oceans.

It's the only major line up in their sports range that hasn't received some kind of movement update or reduction in thickness since the Omega SMP 300 in 2018, followed by the Speedmaster in 2021 and also Seamaster 300 last year. All have received case updates and movement updates that reduce the thickness of the historically chunky watches.

Having said that, I suspect it will still be thicker than the Omega SMP 300 so we shall have to see what happens!

·

I wonder if they would be bold enough to redesign/remove the HE Value. I think it has a certain charm on the SMP 300 (primarily due to a member of Her Majesty’s Secret Service)… but on the PO.. would be nice to remove it outright and instead build in an internal/hidden value

Omega is skipping W&W and doing its own launch announcements over the next few weeks from what I’ve heard.

Local AD thinks it will be a 10,000m diver.  Supposedly a reinterpretation of an old Omega deep sea diver? Omega reps had not given him any indication so this was just his best guess.

Maybe it is a more wearable version of the Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional?

Looks like a PO w/ the date moved to 6 and male end-links.  Curious to see what else changes!

·

The guys at Hodinkee think it’ll be some type of tribute to the Marine… (but something modern that fits into their Seamaster catalog). https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/there-are-more-omega-seamasters-than-you-could-possibly-imagine

If its a Planet Ocean please just be thinner

Omega just dropped another teaser… it looks like a really thick Planet Ocean… maybe @paulie8777 is right… maybe it’s a PO Ultra Deep… but mass produced for regular people to wear
