Stuck for a post idea? Here's a few that NO ONE ever makes... ;)

Seven lucky post ideas, if you're ever stuck for something to say!

1) Choose a popular watch brand and simply tell us that you 'don't get it'. Optional variation: choose a style of watch, eg: divers, and tell us you don't get those.

2) Choose an aspect of horology and ask people to 'change your mind about it'. Bonus points if you then resist and fight anything that gets said to you in the process.

3) Ask us if you should replace all the original components in your vintage watch.

4) Declare something is overrated or underrated with no actual evidence, aside from seeing half a dozen comments from rando's about it over the past week or two.

5) Ask how people got into watch collecting.

6) Choose two wildly different kinds of watches, in function, in looks, in price, etc, and then ask the WatchCrunch community - who don't know you - which one to buy.

7) Ask if people wear their watches in common locations, eg: shower, bed, etc.

I'll bet a person could get some BADGES if they followed these excellent suggestions.

Which should I buy?

I have a three-inch wrist and need a reliable dress watch to take with me when I go to work (I am an Olympic swimming instructor in the Sahara,) which should I buy? I need 50ATM water resistance minimum and gold, whether plated or solid, is a must.

I like the second one, the contrast between the colours really makes it pop. The other is a bit dull by comparison.

You should organize a WC Bingo with those as the squares

Or a drinking game!

I completely agree. As an Olympic swimming instructor, I often have to attend meetings with very wealthy people, and I need something to impress the watch enthusiasts. Invicta has some serious brand cache, unlike "Vacheron Constantin," which sounds like someone took the title of the 2005 film Constantine starring Keanu Reeves and added some letters just for laughs.

Alcohol poisoning is a thing...

Yes that’s it. I’d like to nominate “crotch shots” in WRUW. Or car behind the wheel shots.

·

It is underrated posts like this that got me into collecting in the first place.

·

Remember, if your thread doesn't draw immediate attention, just post it again.

Actually, I'll drop my "choose between two watches" flow chart here even though I just littered another thread with it.

So… a crotch shot behind the wheel for WRUW… noted!

I am sensing a rebellious trend here.

You sir, are a double wiener…I mean winner 😂

I love it when we take the piss out of ourselves every couple months.

Lol

·

Don't forget the "Tell me about this watch" posts with only one pic or multiple terrible pics.

·

“What do you think of homage watches?”

Always guaranteed to generate lively debate!

And the side-street to that, "Yeah, I was looking at this $10,000 watch, then I thought about the Pagani Design, and decided it's basically as good as the $10,000 watch. Do you agree?"

(And of course, if you rightfully point out the huge difference between the Pagani and a Daytona, or whatever the comparison to hand it is, things really kick off! It's so weird! LOL...)

But seriously though, is a 36mm case a ladies watch?

This has to be a trick question, so I'll say both.

(This is hilarious, btw)

In the past couple of days, I've seen posts from almost the full 'top seven'.

Well done, folks.
