First off, the availability of Rolex or what they're going for on the open market has nothing to do with the movement issues. If we want to discuss issues with the 32XX (which is a valid discussion), it should be done around the data and facts (of which we have very little). Let's not fall into false dichotomy. The availability thing is a separate, and valid issue on its own.
Second, the thread you cite from TRF is painfully small sample size, from which we can not make hasty generalizations. They do indicate problems indeed exist, and they should be taken seriously. However, it is not evidence of a broad conspiracy by Rolex that needs to be exposed by YouTubers with "balls". If internal memos were leaked, which gave evidence Rolex knows of widespread issues with these movements, but they are selling them anyway and covering up any evidence of these issues... now that would be a sensational story YouTubers would kill for. To my knowledge, such evidence doesn't exist.
Third, of the poll you cite on TRF, the worst option with 23.3% represented is "No, amplitude is low (below 200) and timekeeping is off (>5 s/d)". Keep in mind that the vast majority of buyers aren't hanging out on forums like this or TRF, and likely aren't paying attention closely enough to notice a 5 - 15 second/day drift, let alone have the tools to test amplitude. I'm not sure where you're getting "32%" from, but that feels a bit sensational in light of small sample of data we have.
I don't want to minimize issues with the movement, I think they are fair game to discuss, but stoking fears and wondering where the sensational headlines are on YT seems a bit disingenuous. Perhaps a better question would be asking if any of us here have experienced issued with our 32XX equipped watches? FWIW, I've spent time with dozens over the years and have not experienced issues, including those that I own and wear frequently. That said, I am not a fan of some of the changes made in the movement, which I detailed in a review of the 124270 right here.
I'll close with Hanlon's razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by ignorance.
Glad you checked them out! I nabbed this before the show started, they brought a few watches to actually sell this time which was welcome. It feels like an exotic car on the wrist!
That new Air King has an absolutely killer case design. It's been lingering in the back of my mind since I saw in Geneva earlier this year. Hoping they bring that case and a slightly revised design to the Milgauss collection sometime soon.
