Zenith Chronomaster Sport // Rolex Daytona 116519LN

I brought my Daytona to a meeting with Zenith to get these two next to each other. I really love both of these watches, and I think Zenith is right on the mark with their Chronomaster Sport. The one seen here is a boutique edition with a tri-color bezel, made from three separate pieces (they make 3 bezels, cut them, and fit the pieces together). It's a touch larger than the Daytona but the dials feel about the same.

This is not a 'this or that' post, just sharing a side by side of two (imo) great watches.

It's really something in person. It doesn't really call attention to itself, but once you notice it, it's hard not to look at.

I keep looking at this photo and then checking my bank account balance. I need to stop.

Zenith's design language on these are a better feel if you as me. Love the way the subdials intermingle and the readability is far better. 😍

Is there a Zenith in the shot? I hadn't noticed.  I can only see a fab white gold Daytona on Oysterflex bracelet. Perhaps I'm experiencing a bit of Rolex tunnel vision but it can't be helped.

Not keen on then Zenith bezel - but i like the change in dial colours from left to right.

The Zenith is a great watch. Congratulations!

The bezel of the Zenith looks awesome. Could you see any imperfections or miss-alignments?

Why is Rolex trying to make a one piece bezel on the GMT-Master II if a cut one would look so much better?

I have a Pepsi and the blue is not clear blue and the red not clear red, it's both purple-ish. Additionally, the transition is not sharp, I like the Zenith approach more!

This is a great question. I have a BLRO as well and I know they’ve had trouble dialing in that bezel since its introduction. I did not notice any alignment or oddities in the bezel but I’d be curious as to how it will age an handle wear and tear over years of use.

Surely Rolex would have looked the feasibility of such a method? I’d love to ask them.

Beautiful watch!

Zenith - by a mile 🥰; Oysterflex has never done it for me - but Daytona history is awesome ( especially "Albino Daytona" ) 😎

I could go either way, tbh. I’d prefer the Zenith without the date window but who am I to be fussy?
