Upgraded my Bambino

I finally did it. My love of the small seconds Bambino has taken me to the Omega Olympic 2012 limited edition. I felt that the Omega alligator strap tapered too thin so I replaced it with a bespoke The Strap Tailor leather with an Omega style clasp.

Tbh... with this, my Tudor BB and my Zodiac Super Compressor, I think I'm done! I've started giving away my affordable watches and don't really find myself looking at buying any others... Let's see how long that lasts 😁

Gorgeous!

Side on, does it look slightly "slabby" or not too high?

Thanks! Here are some extra photos. I don't think it looks thick from the side, but then I have a Tudor BB Steel and Gold, and that's much thicker from the side, so maybe it depends what you compare it with

Thanks for saying so. I'm really pleased with it, especially as it's a combined 10 year anniversary plus 50th birthday watch 😁 My wrist is around 7 inches. It a good size compared with the vintage Omega, which are smaller.

·

Congratulations on a beautiful timepiece.

·

lovely! congrats!

·

Phenomenal upgrade. Enjoy!

·

Just for context... here is the Bambino that got me into small seconds. Affordable watches have been a great way for me to learn what I love.

"... I think I'm done."

Famous last words until the bite lands again 🤣. Congratulations on an excellent piece though!

Love this so much, I was gunning for the Omega 1948 limited edition small seconds version but just couldn’t get it. The strap and white gold finish on your watch is just plain impressive.

What has been the general reaction you find when gifting used and affordable watches? I think this is something I’d like to do, but I feel my non-watch friends would be like, “wtf?”.

Only to family so far. The one friend I offered a Seagull to didn't want it because he was worried he would break it!

That's absolutely gorgeous mate! Sounds like you've got a stonking 3 watch collection there too. Nice one 👏🏻👍🏻

Thanks. It wasn't exactly planned, but somehow I've ended up with the watches that work in different ways. (Although to any normal people, they'd say they all tell the time in the exact same way😂)

Wow! That is a stunning watch. You must have small wrists as I believe it’s a 39mm. Lucky you with that one. Like the Orient too! More my price bracket too. 😊

Just under 7" wrists I think. The size is great for a dress watch imo, better than the original vintage versions. The Bambino is a classic too 😁

Thats old school design right there except for the size. well done.

·

Absolute class 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

·

Beatiful design, what made you pick this over other Omega small seconds?

Thanks. I specifically wanted Arabic numerals, a clean face and small seconds, just as close to my Bambino as possible. The Omega Seamaster 1948s were perfect for me.

·

That’s a beau

·

great pickup! small seconds is ❤❤❤

·

Very very nice

·

Congratulation to your beautiful Omega👍

·

Beautiful watch. I’ve always loved subsidiary seconds. Omegas watches from the fifties has such elegance, as does this one.

·

I love this watch, wow. Good choice.
