NWA Pt. 2! Brew Metric PVD Black!

I really didn't think I'd be writing about this watch so soon. Let me provide some background info first.

So ever since the Windup Watch Fair last October, I've been a fan of Brew. They're a home brand (Jersey represent ✊), the founder is a cool guy, and the watches are lovely. My first watch from the brand was the Metric Retro model. Saw it on Jonathan's (the founder) wrist, picked it up two weeks later, and the rest was history.

From then until now, homie's put out a couple of more colors for the Metric model, like the PVD Black model. It was going to be a minute before I'd even buy this watch because I was planning out my best friend's bachelor day and saving up for anything else that could've happened the weekend of his wedding. I had also recently purchased the Victorinox Alliance watch so that was going to be it for a while.

Last Wednesday, my best friend picked me up because we were going to go pick up a friend of ours from the Newark airport and as I get into the car, he chucks box at me. It's a gift. I initially think "Oh...it's the cuff links that his cousin mentioned." Nope. I slice the label, lift up the flap, and I see a VERY FAMILIAR watch face.

"No way. No fucking way he got me this."

He did. I look up to him, he smiles ear to ear, I look down, and I'm dumbstuck. He got me the fucking watch. I take the smaller box out of the bigger box, lift that flap open, see that there's a black black, open it to take the black watch case out, open that.....and it's there. The Metric Black PVD model.

Turns out all this time, he was going to get me a Brew watch, but was not sure if I was a fan of the 8-bit watch. Two weeks before his wedding, we hung out as a "calm before the storm" type of deal because I knew he was going to get really busy really soon, and he came into my room beacuse I had to do something. I don't remember what. But he sat in my bed, saw the catalog there, and started to peruse through it. He asked me if I always had that catalog and I told him I got it recently. What I thought was just him killing time and looking through this catalog was in fact espionage work in an attempt to figure out what watch I wanted. I even told him that I was aiming to get the Black PVD model once I had the funds, but homie said "Nah. I'm getting this shit for you."

And he did. I can't believe I have this thing.

Gonna be wearing this piece for a long time. I whole-heartedly recommend that you give Brew a shot. Their watches are amazing. No regrets at all.
