White Speedmaster Moonwatch or White SMP

I’m in the opposite situation. I have two SMP 300’s, but not a Speedy. I’m definitely getting one of these, though I can’t for a while.

Real world, (for new) one is $4k new the other will be $8k for at least the next 6 months. Two different watches though. Easy answer, get both. :-)

Speedy looks way better, easy decision

I love the white smp but that lug to lug wasn’t nearly as comfortable for me long term. The new speedmaster is so much better proportioned but I don’t have $8k in the couch cushions

That SMP with that white dial has been on my short list for awhile. Not sure the case size fits me all that well, but there’s something about the color combo on that watch.

Seamaster

Nah, I have ever white dial SMP and black dial Speedmaster - perfect flexible combo for my aesthetic tastes.

White Speedmaster is super sharp, but not sure I would pair with white SMP unless I really just did white dials as my look.

Maybe I'm clueless because I've never gotten to the point of actually trying to buy one, but how is the SMP $4k? I like it more than the speedy, so I'd buy it over the speedy, even at the same price. I've just never seen them listed new at something like $4k.

Many ADs unload their unsold inventory to grey dealers (not be confused with shady flippers). They in turn sell them for a significant discount. Joma is one of the most popular, and they are currently selling it on a bracelet for $4325 before any discount code. If you shop around, or time it with sellers, you can get it under $4k.

When I get to the point where I'm pulling the trigger on the SMP, I'm probably going to pay the AD price to help them. The Omega AD in Lancaster is a great family-owned jeweler and I like being able to go in there and talk shop with the sales guys and them not give me crap for not buying. I'll pay the premium to continue my relationship with them and to help keep them around.

I think the Speedmaster, they knocked that design out of the park..

Seamaster of course, having 2 very similar watches on your collection isn't a good idea, I think

For the exact opposite reason I may get the Speedy because I already own a Seamaster. (Older one, but still)

I somehow didn't find regular Speedy particularly appealing but the white Speedy is 🔥

Aldough the color scheme is preety much the same and case ( lugs, size, thickness ) design is simmilar I doubt people will be choosing between these two as they are as differrent type of watches as they can be

You can’t have too many Speedy… Next time you hold both in your hand, pay attention to how pure and glossy is the white dial on the latest « Craig White », it’s the purest white ever, it’s bests the SMP 300m. I held both and would still recommend the Speedy first (or both if you can afford). I also have a few… including on the same case and 3861 movement (ex: Snoopy, sapphire sandwich, etc). Go see one in the flesh 😉
