You're missing my point entirely. A good watch, if well maintained, will outlast the owner. The wear you are speaking of, is close to non-existant. A good watch can be worn everyday for 50-100 years, or more. My great grandfather's Elgin pocket watch runs just fine.
But you do you, and I'll do me. I'll use my winder, go to it each and every day, and grab and go whatever suits my fancy. No setting of watches with many complications required, except for making sure the date is correct.
In fact, I'll put much less wear on the stem and setting mechanisms than if I were to let them wind down and have to set them each time I wear them.
Can you actually point out any real evidence, other than the echo chamber of opinion, that shows a watch that's been kept in a winder is more damaged than one that is treated like you prefer?
Look, if you wore just one automatic all the time it would be like having it on the winder all the time. I have lots of moon phase watches and change up often. Having to set them is a royal PITA.
Having them on a winder is no more wear than wearing them.
