Accuracy is unchallenged. Dial is beautiful. Bracelet. Meh

·

The accuracy is so good nothing like it,love the birch dial, just wish it had micro adjustment but love mine.

·

Amazing dial texture 👌

I have the hi beat white birch (SLGH005) with the 9SA5 movement and I have also owned the black stream SLGA015 with the 9RA5 spring drive movement. So I have experienced first hand Grand Seiko’s current top level mechanical and spring drive movements. They are both awesome in their own ways. If you’ve never owned a spring drive, I would definitely suggest taking the plunge at least once. It’s a supremely unique experience. 👍

Bracelet is ugly and not worth the price.

The watch itself is stunning.

·

🔥Looks so much better without a power indicator on the dial

·

Btw, the other difference between the spring drive and mechanical white birch (other than the movements) is that the dial texture is more pronounced in the mechanical version. Here’s mine as an example

I wish bracelet tapered. Still stunning in every way. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

·

OMG that is one of the most beautiful dials ever made. If you have the funds, you would be dense not to get it.

I just added the back picture to this post after reading your comment

Spring Drive is my favorite movement even though I don’t own a GS (yet!). Sounds like a solvable problem, right?!! Ha! I’m planning on going titanium and have selected the SBGE215. Which AD will offer 15-20% discount on GS? Also liked the BMW background…I’m in the i4M50 and am very pleased with this EV!!

Just gorgeous

For me I owned this and had two issues. One, the clasp (no micro or on the fly adjust) two no lume. These are more sports watch in style and feel as such they should have lume.

I had to make the same decision between the SLGA009 and the SLGH005. I ended up going with the high beat, primarily due to the aesthetics of the 9SA5 movement , in my opinion it is just visually more appealing. But I do agree the Spring Drive is a much better movement from a technical perspective, truly amazing piece of engineering work.

I own an SLGA007. The 9RA2 is beautiful, and it is extremly accurate. As others already have said, tje weak point with Grand Seiko are the bracelets. I think the Evolution 9 bracelet is ok - but I miss the microadjust. And you could always put the watch on a strap. Go for it!

·

Definitely one of my grail watch

·

Awesome accuracy. Beautiful dial. Dimensions are perfect. It is a perfect watch in every way; however, I worry about cost of maintenance/repair after years of wear. It’s not something that any watch repair center can handle.

I have the Snowflake on my radar, but I have hesitated on pulling the trigger.

Haven't experienced one yet. But what I know about GS and springdrive, I'd say they're definetly underrated. They brought this revolutionary new tech to the market. Not as revolutionary as eliminating the middleman ofcourse!

·

Absolutely stunning 😍

The spring drive movement in my opinion is genuinely a landmark in horology. An incredibly ingenious idea, has the wonderful accuracy of a quartz but lasts as long as you will and the sweep of the seconds hand is incredible. The only problem is that servicing is expensive. I would love to own a spring drive watch at some point

·

SBGE275 GMT runs on the short-lived, rare 9R16A that is 1/3rd more accurate than the more standard 9R6x family. There was no alternative movement to the a SD when I bought this GS in 2022 - just explaining the tech to others is as rewarding and as wearing a great watch. It also helps others see why a watch could cost so much!
