Love that combination! I've been eyeing one of these for a while, as I have an A100WE-1AVT (pictured on a Vario Strap) and love the retro styling. For some reason I really like the gold version of the model you have, but I can't over the fact it's $50 more expensive than the silver variant.
With that said, theVintage Casio collection, really lends it self to after market straps, they are a lot of fun!
I'm wearing an Armitron right now, and routinely wear Casios and Timex watches. So I don't have any issue wearing cheaper watches, but I do stay away from certain brands. I got into watches because of Invicta. Twice. Once as a teen and again a few years ago. With that said, I refuse to wear one. Even a normal one like a pro diver, just because of the stigma. I know it's silly, but the idea that I might catch the eye of another watch nerd, and have to say "I'm wearing an Invicta" is off putting. And I own about 6 of them, big silly ones that I wanted as a teen but couldn't get at the time. None of them have seen the sun light.
Considering I've never been approached by a watch geek, ever. It's a silly thing, but it gives me a bit of comfort. Nothing is worse than the fear of public embarrassment.
I'm actually really torn on this one. I love a fancy digital watch. Something about a stainless steel, well finished digital is just fun. And while casio has a number of stainless steel watches, the vintage line is full of them, they all have terrible bracelets. If you look at full metal gshocks (not counting after market mods) you're going to be spending as much if not more.
Not to mention, you know this one will have a fantastic bracelet (i have a quartz PRX and the bracelet is the selling point for me). With that said the design of the face is just bland.
As for 'value', I don't think that digital module is that much cheaper than the quartz movement in my PRX, so the price (while high) isn't offensive to me. So maybe, if I catch it on sale, I might grab it.
