Greatest Gift

So for my birthday today I just received the greatest gift…….. a watch fund!

My wife put in a large amount of money and told me to setup a recurring withdrawal into this acocunt so I can pick out my own watch!

One catch. She said it had to be a Rolex, so my itch is finally scratched (she doesn’t even know our type lol).

So here is where I need help. I have a bb58 black and if I didn’t have this watch it would be a no brainer to get the 36mm explorer. But since I already have a “black sports watch” I worry I will never put my bb58 back on.

I want a everyday watch that I can rotate in with my bb58, but for it to feel different.

I think my options are (the pictures are most likely the configuration I would want):

A: fuck it get the explorer you always wanted one

B: get a datejust

C: go OP

C: OP 👍

Congrats on a great wife!

I wouldn’t let the fact you already have a black sports watch stop you from getting the Explorer. The rotation and how often you wear one or the other will work itself out.

·

OP!! I need a Suga Momma too!!

·

Get your Explorer & get rid of the BB!!

I have other sports watches and I always go to the bb58. But I like your advice.

I love the op too! I wish they had one in white. I might need to look at used options.

I could never. Back story. I got that from my wife as a Christmas present and it’s been there for so many vacations and means too much to me.

But do you think they can Coexist?

I buy from Seth all the time and this is on my list… but if you want it… and if you are interested I’ll let him know…

That's a perfect watch gift!

Buy the model you want. Wait for what will make you happy

·

Damn you all!!!!!!!

I made the decision in my head to get the dj.

Now I’m back to the explorer!

I need to make a trip to the deal and get one on. And let the wait became lol.

·

Good wife good life. Happy wife happy life. You are blessed my man.

·

Get the Explorer. If that means the Tudor doesn't get worn, so be it. Sell it and add to the fund.

Why settle for two second choice if you can have first choice...

·

Get your Explorer. BB58 will be a different contrast to the Rolex. You will appreciate both in their independent style.

·

Pick the watch you like the most regardless of color or possible overlap. Don't settle.

·

Get what you truly want! They are different enough to coexist, I think.

·

My personal choice of the 3 is the DateJust. That said, the statement you made “the Explorer you’ve always wanted” - get the Explorer. If it’s something you’ve always wanted, it would likely live in your head rent free for all eternity if you pass it by.

·

Explorer. You’ll love it. If the Tudor isn’t getting enough wrist time flip it to something different or fun that you would just wear occasionally

·

I like the explorer, dont get me wrong, but If you try on the right DJ, it's over.

Why do you say that? The look or the fit?

This seems relevant to this topic: https://youtu.be/qBO4q-oEF9U?si=jfrAzhF4R173S2cT

·

I’d personally go for the datejust, but if you want the explorer get the explorer

·

I’ll be honest with you man… you can’t go wrong with any of the classic oyster-case Rolex watches.

I have Black Bay 54 and an Explorer (124270). If I had gotten the 54 first, and was looking for an oyster Rolex, I would probably skip the Explorer (not that I have any complaints about mine) and go with an OP or Datejust.

Congratulations!
