Not only Rolex and Tudor

Watches and Wonders coming up. 52 brands compete to show off. Everything is not about Rolex and Tudor.

What do you think JLC might have up their sleeves?

Another Reverso? An updated 41mm Polaris? The latter will have my vote.

They had the coolest exhibitions and you could watch some of the artisans painting on the watches. Can't wait to see what complications they will put together for 2024 💫

·

To be honest Rolex, Tudor, Cartier and the other big dogs are boring af for me.

I‘m way more interested in some of the small independents. They are way more fun and try something new.

I haven’t seen a new model lately but they do wonders with their existing catalogue👌

Yes they play safe. A new color on the bezelring mostly.

Less Reverso please. More "attainable" horology such as elevating the Ultra Thin Master collection and Polaris.

Yes, let the complications stand by. JLC can do wonders with their dials without complications. Or maybe their ”release” will be a new price hike 😎

41mm Polaris would be awesome 👌

41mm Polaris would be awesome 👌

I suspect there might be an update of the existing no date 41mm. 1) so different fromnthebrest of the line up 2) I got an unmotivated high discount on said watch recently telling me that something new is round the corner.

Time will tell.

That’s just an insane watch!!!! Total madness!

JLC make nice watches but if someone increases their prices like that it suggest to me that they want to make it about status and exclusivity more than the product itself. Which is a shame but in line with the general direction the industry is going.

I get it, there is seemingly lots of people who don't care about the thing and buy a watch just for the purpose of having it, even better if it's still sealed in a plastic bag. So if they want to appeal to the "exclusivity crowd", fair enough, but that probably means fewer releases with "mass appeal" and if so at high prices and low numbers. Not sure I want to get on board with that...

That said, I wish they made a Polaris without the rotating outer ring in a (much) smaller size. Basically a "field watch" instead of a "diver". I doubt it will get more than a dial "refresh" though.

The 2nd market will tell if they suceed with their price increases. I doubt it. Still they are making fantastic watches that stands out from the crowd. I would love if the came up with a less than 41 mm Polaris👍

Hopefully not another 30% price increase 🙈🙈🙈

I’m with you. Looks ”bad” when you get multi % discount at the AD or the pre loved market don’t follow.

The Polaris is a stunning watch. Going to 41mm would be something!

The no date is 41 but I would like they go even lower.

Something way out of my price range

·

I'd love to see and buy a cream or green dial (something different black, blue, white) Polaris Memovox Chrono style watch in 40-42mm on a bracelet. That would be money.

@werdna I hope JLC will make some smaller sizes for you and everyone else. It won't help me but I'm down for the cause.

I'll make sure to keep posting JLC just for you. 🫣

I have my appointment with JLC at Noon on Tuesday at W&W…I’ll share whatever I’m allowed.

Let us use availability and and ease of purchase as a criteria, now tell me if Rolex wins😀.

You make a valid point concerning availability. To argue that point is madness. To be clear, I am not a Rolex fan boy. I don’t own one. I would not pay secondary market price for one and I am not on any waiting list. My point is that when you put them side to side there is no comparison in my eyes. Tudor makes a robust watch no doubt but it’s not a Rolex and it’s not an Omega. To me it’s like comparing a Lexus LS to a Toyota Avolon. The Tudor watches I have handled are simply boring to me. It’s preference thing. I feel the same way as many do about IWC. Yet, I love Grand Seiko and Seiko while other don’t. I am not looking to change anyone’s mind. I simply made a comment to a post. I hope you have a good day and a wonderful weekend.

I want compressor relaunched although I don’t expect it to be😅

If they do and if it’s under 42mn, it’s gonna be my 4th JLC😊

·

It will be hard to top last years Reverso edition, that is one fi e looking piece. Looking forward to see what they release this year.

Green like the boutique date version but with Memovox function?

I guess we could see some redesigned Reverso dials, a smaller Polaris (hopefully!), also hopefully some vintage remake and yellow gold back.

Or nothing interesting 😆

Personally me, I would be mostly happy with an increased power reserve on all models and to see automatic Reversos.

Yeah that would be great or maybe more along the line of the master compressor extreme without being extreme (smaller) and a lacquer dial more in line with the Polaris.

For the record I really want a Master Compressor Extreme but they are large and think. I'm not sure I'd wear it. I've been looking at the vintage Memovox pre Polaris. They are really cool. I just haven't found one I want to pull the trigger on yet. I see more JLC in my future. .

·

To restart Memovoxes would be a great idea, but I doubt it as JLC uses this function on some current other models. And adds crazy money on top for this 🤦‍♂️

So... I found only my previous prediction in the middle sentence 🤦‍♂️😀

Few new watches, with numerous complications, Polaris still 42mm, pink gold continues, diamonds on a men's watch 🤦‍♂️.

And this shrimp colour dial on Duometre 😆 I understand such dial on microbrands, but not on a luxury watch for 97k €, which should look classic and decent even after 50 years.

Image

Moreover, clearly a try to jump into higher price range league. The cheapest new watch costs 31k €.
