Borderline for my wrist

My max lug to lug is approximately 50mm. Preferably 48mm and downwards. Two times now I have given up the bracelet (with male endlink on top of that). First the Explorer II was eguipped with a rust brown leather from ColaReb. Now the turn has come to the 40mm Spirit.

I took advantage of Watchbandit generous Black Week discount of 33%. Got myself 3 21mm straps I thought would fit. In the end I believe I will primarily go with the brown suede. My wife preferred the midnight blue leather so I started off with that.

No bracelet can match to fit and comfort of a quality leather strap. They look better too...

I try to have a mix. I love the look and feel of leather but do appreciate a bracelet as well.

I think that you and I have about the same size (and shape) wrists. I have the same limitations in lug to lug and trepidations about approaching my limit. I agree with you about the suede.

Haha, yes the ”perfect sized” one. I assume you and I have better taste than my wife👍

I'm a bracelet guy, but the Spirit 40 wears more comfortably on a strap for sure. I prefer it aesthetically on the bracelet and that's mostly how I wear it, but it'll get more wear on leather than any of my other 3 handers I think (it's still pretty new to me).

I prefer yours on the brown, but I'm boring so don't listen to me!

Looks good on the blue leather too, the darker tone of blue works well, I just prefer the dial and strap to have more contrast.

Longines seem to be sticking with the long lugs, hey?

Doesn't particularly bother me - my wrist is really flat and broad but I prefer a smaller profile. The long lugs work for me 'cause I get some extra presence without any extra diameter - but they must've lost so many sales to the rest of you lucky enough not to have weird wrists.

Maybe that'll change - the 39mm Zulu Time, the 37mm Spirit and the new LLD seem to show 'em embracing better specs.

I have never been criticized for having questionable taste on many subjects except for my politics but I think the blue leather suits the watch better, suede might be a nicer material but for me at least the appearance is not coherent. Decided to bother my wife who studied fashion design in New York but now is a director with a financial company, she suspects my preference for the blue has more to do with the style of straps, the brown suede a little too buttoned down for my taste.

100% with you about the suede strap! Makes perfect contrast with the dial 👌

I just got this strap in for my Spirit. The bracelet is great but I just didn't like it. I added a poor picture of the watch on a rubber strap. The rubber strap is light and feels great. I think this watch is made for a leather strap

Reminds of the dark brown grain I bought. Yes I agree, it’s made for leather👍

Yea, the blue midnight works fine. I have the same color on the Skipper. A navy will eat the dial up. I’m boring too, most of my leathers are brown. Hard to beat but I enjoy some variaty as well.

I will just shuffle them around a while and see what sticks. The blue works very well since it so dark. I have tested navy blue with blue dial but that doesn’t work at all. The navy blue suck out everything from the dial.

Nice watch, I like Longines!

I have the same watch, it wore a bit big on the bracelet so I replaced it with a blue Artem sailcloth. I think it suits the watch rather well.

Ahh, the Skipper! I was in at TAG/Heuer today, had a gave it and the reverse panda Glassbox a good inspection. Really fond of 'em - especially the Glassbox. I liked the Titanium Monaco with the silver dial, blue sub-dials and strap with a neon yellow chrono hand too.

TH have had a crackin' year this year!
