The Seiko Turtle or Samurai.

A #phoibos Reeefmaster is an option. Aldo, the #orient Mako II or Kanno are great affordable options. All have great specs that don't break the bank and look great!

·

I think your number one consideration for a dive watch at that price point is to make sure that the watch is ISO-6425 (international standard) certified, either independently or internally by the manufacturer. There are a few others, but the Seiko Prospex and the Citizen Promaster lines offer several ISO-compliant models that will meet your requirements, especially your budget. If the watch is marked with “Diver” or “Diver’s 200m”, it is a good sign that it is ISO 6425 compliant.

·

The Seiko Turtle, Samurai, Monster, and Tuna all fit your requirement being under $700, 200m WR, and lug widths from 43-48mm.

The Lorier Neptune has a 46mm LtoL and 200m WR for $500.

Can heartily recommend the Scurfa Treasure Seeker: automatic, 300m WR, lug to lug 49mm. Developed by a pro diver. Check out https://www.scurfawatches.com/categories/watches/treasure-seeker/

Was also going to say Scurfa - wholeheartedly agree with @Icarium - Scurfa really are about as "proper diver watch" as it gets at the price, possibly at any price. Google Paul Scurfield diver and you'll see what I mean!

The Seiko Turtle or Samurai.

Samurai is an excellent choice, I also like the sumo but I haven't kept track of prices lately so I'm not sure if that will come in under budget?

·

I would definitely be looking at Squale, I'm pretty sure you can pick one up used under your budget,

Awesome watches with genuine history/heritage

Agreed. I picked up a Titanium Diver One recently but the bright blue Treasure Seeker is tempting

Check out Islander Watch

·

That looks like one fun dive club!

·

Love my echo/neutra Cristallo

Small seconds

Power meter

No date

Very accurate

Well built

Pick something you can afford and like in the Seiko Prospex line, you will be glad you did.

·

Proper? I'd say Citizen AquaLand, but that is quartz 😅 CWC? But I think that will pass 700$ in automatic... But there are any good suggestion above. Skurfa is waaaay cool!!

·

Best budget dive watch for me is the Citizen Aqualand but it’s a quartz. However the Titanium Promaster at £600 is automatic and great value.

Helm Vanuatu has ISO 6425, seiko NH35, 300m WR, superb legibility, available in stainless steel or titanium, all for less than USD 500. The only downside is the super long waiting list 😮‍💨 Check https://helmwatches.com/vanuatu.html

If you are willing to go a bit over your budget there is Marathon SAR line which is their dive watches and Certina DS líne, if not Citizen Promaster line are around your maximum budget. All of these are available at different retailers including Amazon so you could look for discounts and are ISO 6425 certified.

By the way if you live in North America Marathon is doing a Labor Day discount on their watches,
