"The Call" - How long did you wait!?

How long did you sit on the 'wishlist' before you got The Call? Specifically, for our Swiss Crown wearers.. I had a nice experience with an AD yesterday. I finally tried on a 226570 and to my surprise, despite it being ostensibly large on paper, the slim case and proportions work really well to shrink it down to acceptable levels. The AD volunteered to add me to the wishlist - which I initially laughed at, but ultimately, took her up on. I am now checking my phone every 30 seconds in case The Call comes in...

9 months for me back in 2022 for an OP

·

After expressing interest in either blue or green datejust (fluted/jubilee/motif dial) ….I relaxed and awaited the onset of old age …3 weeks later …THE CALL….by then my funds had been reallocated to more pressing needs…talk about feeling like a time waster🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

·

I waited 8 months for a blue dial OP. That still sells over retail on the used market, so that too unreasonable. Now, I'm waiting on the Sub. Hopefully not another 8 months wait.

·

Abt 2.5 months for a yacht master 40 rodium dial in 2022 and 9 months for a datejust 36 fluted on jubilee with mint dial in 2023.

·

Took my name off the "list" and stopped pursuing any Rolex at all. I refuse to play games to spend my money and there are so many brands out there doing it as well or better than the Crown.

love the yacht master.

I think we need to see these beauties - help keep me entertained for the wait..

·

It really depends. I have 5 pieces,

Black date sub and Milgauss, bought them in 2011 no waitlist, walk-in grab and go.

OP41 turquoise blue 2 months (before covid)

Yacht Master Rodium 2 weeks. (During Covid)

Daytona rosegold 10 months (post Covid)

2.5 years. Quite sure at this point that I’m not really on any “list”

·

I got the call after 5 days and declined it. Thought it would be a much longer wait. 😅

·

Four months for a no-date Sub with no purchase history at the AD.

Thinking it was because my wife and the associate bonded over girl talk during a Watch Magazine event and the associate wanted to help a sister out.

It probably didn't hurt either that we were both already sporting the maker at a well attended watch event.

Life isn't fair but every so often something goes your way.

2-3 weeks for both my wife’s OP and my Datejust. Less than a week for an OP and DJ for a friend. Just picked up the DJ this past weekend.

I don’t have a huge spend or anything. Just maybe have a good connection with my SAs.

Got a call randomly after 3 years for the explorer. Frankly I'd even forgotten that I had registered my interest for it.

Six weeks to get the exact DateJust I requested, this was in 2021

·

It’s been five long years for me but I still hold out hope.

Please call me back Sharon, I miss you and the kids. 😔

I can definitely relate. This would be my second. I have to say, they are really really great watches.

For sure. I’m not knocking them as a product - I just think the culture around the brand is a bit much.

Got mine quickly. The 226570 is excellent so long as you don't have a baby wrist 😂. Only kidding. People make way too much of its 42mm size though especially considering the bezel. I absolutely love my Explorer II. I've tried the 5 digit and no thanks.

·

Waiting for the call just so I can tell them to pound salt because I’ve bought two or three better watches since I asked lol

I did. Infact the AD gave it to me at the price before the recent hike so in a way I found a discount as well.

·

Been on the waitlist for about 5 months for an Explorer. Dropped by the AD yesterday while I was in town and got a different SA. She took my info down again and asked if I wanted to place interest in any other watches. So I put my name down for a DJ 41mm and an Explorer 2 😂. I think she was hinting to check out other brands. The only game I’m willing to play is the waiting game.

I honestly thought I’d be sized out with my wrist, but the Tudor Pelagos fits so I figured I’d try the explorer II.. and it fits better than the Pelagos. 💪

Don’t hate the player, hate the game
