Hot Take: Invicta doesn’t suck

I once put a “Hot Take” on here that “some WC users’ watches are 💩”

I included Invicta in that general statement (at least in my mind I did)

BUT, since then, I’ve seen the light! 🙏🏻

NOW, no way would I wear one. Still not my style.

BUT, I’ve seen some of you ROCK them. Not just wear them, but f-ing ROCK them. They fit your persona and your fit. You wear them. They don’t wear you.

Keep rocking. They look 🔥 on you.

Thanks to @got_time_1 @solidyetti @SimonB and others for showing me the light.

Still waiting on someone to change my mind on clone homages. But let’s leave that for another day. 😂

This is not a hot take

·

I put Invicta in the same category as Richard Mille. An acquired taste that I haven't acquired.

·

Lol 😆, thanks dude! 🍻

Sometimes you just gotta smile and be a tad over the top!

And I would agree, even though it's more satirical/irony/whatever, I mean mine does in fact look like something worn in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium.

But when Mrs. SolidYetti saw my #wruw picture in our shared photo album in the car en route for day off out and abouts, she rolled her eyes at me...

At which point BabyYetti shouted from the back, "Look momma, dads watch chomps. I gave it a flower."

Bwahahahaha 😝😆

I'd also add, I'm looking forward to the after action with your C Ward and Kilimanjaro adventure.

Hopefully you get a few days in Nairobi and/or the Rift Valley. Absolutely beautiful. And the Massai people, and Kenyans I've met in general are good people.

Literally it was your WRUW that put me over the top. Mind you, I’m drinking my ass off at an airport bar waiting for a delayed flight. So my judgment may be off. 😂

Doing a Safari through Tanzania after. So hopefully that Christopher Ward shot gets a few Lions in the background 🦁

in my opinion, the the Pro Divers are the only Invictas acceptable

They are nice. But I suspect a few Invicta fans on here will disagree.

·

Still bugs me that some people continue to judge Invicta by their outrageous, far afield designs and not their normal offerings, their divers for example. They make affordable, nice watches.

Oh well, can't convince everybody.

Also, just to add, there was a dude on here who posted a stormtrooper watch. As a big Star Wars nerd, it pulled at my heartstrings.

Yes indeed

·

To me Invicta are a lot more comical than bad, yes they have some more reserved designs but "bad"? Nah.

Awesome.

Which park?

If it's Tsavo there is some history there. Perfectly safe now, but was home to the Tsavo Man Eaters.

Movie version and/or book are both good, obvs movie is based on the story not 💯 percent factual. But the pair did get a LOT of peeps before Lt Col Patterson brought them down.

Interesting tid bit, they are both in display at the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History. Like the actual stuffed cats.

If you get a chance a Safari there is cool, and perfectly safe. They guides take the safety there VERY important. Not too mention the African Bush Rangers that not only help camo safety, but fight poachers.

Never say never, besides you look like a koi kinda guy, this is about the same size as your AP 🤭

Serengeti, Ngoro Crater, and the place where the Lions climb trees.

How about the this homage. It's so big I'm trying to find a strap to fit. I got it without one so I put it on this bund that is too small. 😂 I got it in an auction lot. I wasn't bidding because of it. After seeing it I do like the saying on the back.

I think the problem lies in that what you might consider their "far afield designs" are actually their bread and butter, commonly-worn pieces, while the more subtle conservative designs are now the exceptions.

No argument there, you are correct.

Aaaarghgh! Aaarghgh!

My WRUW is 75% this old dog. It’s made me a devoted fan.

Acceptable is the best you got? That says it all.

·

Some of their divers are good deals for the price. I think if that was what they built their brand on, they’d be more respected, but the constant gas lighting with their prices coupled with their eye-searingly outrageous other 95% of their catalog doesn’t do the brand any favors.

Guess we should be expecting a retraction statement when you sober up lol

·

The big designs are horrible, I'll never even look at those things but the prodiver is amazing. I got it for 50 bucks dieing prime day. The nh35 movements they got go for like 20-30 bucks, so that's just amazing value.

·

Thanks for the mention bro. I'm a big guy who likes big watches. Is it a practical everyday watch? He'll no, but it's fun and makes me happy 😊

Your hot take speaks the truth. Bottom line is wear what you like, F*** what anyone else thinks.
