Reverse SOTC

Well I've never posted a SOTC, So I thought I'd better get to it.

Except, In honor of the most recent departure from my collection. My Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 I'm posting the watches that have left the box.

Gone but not forgotten, I enjoyed my time with em’

They were all completely serviced and photographed. So the new owners got them ready to roll. If the new owners take care of them. They'll make their way to another caretaker in the future.

I’m about to pick up a Blue Flighty- My Daytona made me a believer and now I have a dozen variations from Pulsar and Seiko. Great movement ⚙️🔧🔩

For me it's about finding watches that will stay for the long run and enjoying the ones that don't make the cut. It can be a challenge collecting contemporary and vintage and keeping the numbers reasonable. You can't buy em' all but it sure is tempting!😂

Yeah and I forgot a couple, I really just started collecting vintage a couple years ago. So I didn't have a true feel for what I really wanted in the long run. Less is more sometimes and with watches this couldn't be more true. What's the point if your not able to wear them all and enjoy them to their full potential.

It's funny when I first dove into the vintage side. I leaned on @SurferJohn for a lot of advise, which was invaluable. One thing he said that stuck with me was. You can't buy it all and you'll get to a point of enlightenment where you can see a great deal and pass on it. That's Crazy talk I said! I never pass up a great deal.

I've finally hit that point! I actually contacted a seller the other day to tell him he was selling a fairly rare watch well below it's value and what to change in the auction to bring him a better selling price🙄

I have an ebay store, So when I feel a watch isn't living up to its expectations. I list it with a buy it now price and it sits until sold. I rarely do auction format unless it's a hot item or I'm unsure of its true value. So yes mostly Ebay sales, But I prefer to trade. My last trade was a 1960 Seiko Cronos for a 2020 seiko SPB143 62MAS with a full service included. That kind of deal is way more enjoyable than buying or selling👌

The Blue Flighty is a great looking watch! Not sure I would sell that one if I had it versus the regular release that I had

Big advantage being US based on that front. It’s so much harder to move watches here in the frozen North. So I’m fairly gun shy about many purchases and anything slightly vintage.

62MAS always a good catch, sounds like a good trade. I’ve yet to do a trade but not at all averse to the idea.

BTW,,I like zooming in on AI drawings to find the weird and freaky 😜

I just trade with friends and a local shop/group of watchmakers. The AI photo's are hilarious, I always feel lucky when the character has the right amount appendages 🤣
